Well I heard a group of 6/7 parents speaking about this while I was doing the school run this morning.

It was all negative towards Jesy and this live.

Zach raised some very good points in this video . He’s very much team Leigh Anne in the situation and seems to hint to have a bit of BTS tea as well.

 

 

Jesy is to me obviously not being 100% truthful.

Zach backtracked majorly following comments on his original video (reaction to Boyz video).

What he says in the above video is good though.

His videos are often annoying to me but this was BRILLIANT.

I can't watch 40 minutes of Zach Campbell no matter how brilliant he promises to sound.

One of the top comments in that video is v interesting and something that never really occurred to me until now:

 

The reason this is only now becoming as huge as it is, is because Jesy has entered the US market. Before she was only known to the UK audience and as everyone who's from UK will know - spray tan and more importantly, excessive spray tan is normalised here in UK. 90% of girls between 16 and 25 have spray tans on and thats a huge problem. You'll see girls change ethnicity on almost daily basis, and unfortunately since so many do that, most wont blink an eye. Every night out, a new spray tan! That's why Jesy has been getting away with it for soo long here, because she's just like millions of others. Ofc some people have been calling her out for it, but the conversation never went past the "She looks kinda dark in this music video".

 

I remember when Americans were reacting to Sweet Melody - most who didnt know Little Mix thought she's mixed race (if not fully black), because they didn't know her and what her real skin colour is. This is a much, MUCH deeper rooted problem that just Jesy, and thats what's worrying!

I think this is a very valid point and a point I've never really thought about until now.

 

Also, agree with you guys that more times than not Zach annoys me, but he made some excellent points and he did it without attacking Jesy or Nicki. It was more of a "I'm sorry but NO. We are NOT doing this" kinda thing. Interesting that he seems to know a bit more BTS and that it seemingly looks like they've tried to have it out with Jesy before.... but I'm not going to bother even thinking about that too much until I hear it from Leigh or the other girls (even Jesy if she was to do a proper interview about it and be honest and raw with it). Coz I'm bored of influencers getting directly involved and inserting themselves in this rn.

I just think Jesy is quite naive. She obviously is cautious of what she absorbs online and her team and now gone with toxic positivity only allowing her to see good things.

 

She will never be able to grow if she isn't given room to. I think her team are doing her dirty. The comments about her dad today just make the entire campaign feel like a big x factor intro sob story.

 

Jesy is legit funny and I think the excessive tanning is more about her covering insecurities (like wearing head to toe blavk) than anything else, but the rest of it is appropriation.

 

I would be surprised if those DMs are real from Leigh. I don't think she's naive enough to do it. I hope not anyway. But Jesys biggest down falls recently have been her absolute ignorance to Leigh's suffering about racism in the group and now laughing along to Nicki bullying her.

 

For me, and I'm sure it's not the case, it feels like she's now taken the role of victim and that's her role.

He corrected himself and bit said she’s mixed with something . Jade herself says sometimes she gets passed as white passing so it’s a common mistake .

 

I hope Jesy is okay, even though she's not handled some of these things well, I do hope she's got supportive people around her.

That’s what I’ve said all along - where are her label, team, advisors, management? You can turn comments off on Instagram but that doesn’t resolve the problem.

 

She will also be fully aware of the wave of support for LM and the kind of backlash she’s facing at the start of her solo career makes me worry that all the ‘yes’ people currently surrounding her will fade away when the hits don’t come rolling in as expected.

I hope she’s ok too but again it’s the constant avoiding the situation rather than addressing it and apologising!

 

The issue is her team allowed her to sit on a live with Nicki talking about all these issues, disregarding them, claiming no one told her about blackfishing and it was never raised to her there’s stories all the way back to 2017/18 where POC have said to her and obviously Leigh directly after the SM video.

 

 

Even if she doesn’t apologise for her tan / video I feel like she really needs to address everything apologise to her fans for any controversy and make reference to apologising to Leigh (even if she doesn’t name her) I hate the fact with her or her team they just block it all out constantly!

 

I guess that will never happen as she’s hardly going to go against Nicki especially as she’s seen first hand how hard she goes in.

Who cares about Nicki Minaj and her backlash?? She is going to FLOP so hard next time and it'll be completely deserved. Supporting rapist, paedos, blackfishing and even commenting on people's Tik Tok's saying they need to get a life and clapping back to fans. She is coming across desperate and much like Azealia Banks. A whole ass CHILD.
