March 10, 20223 yr I think they need to rethink the 3 minute version as they have removed the part Nothing but, nothing but, nothing but space man from the last chorus as I think that would be better kept in for the live performance to give it a bit more life before the ending.
March 10, 20223 yr It’s not difficult to envisage it doing an Austria 2018, score wise? Edited March 10, 20223 yr by ScottyEm
March 10, 20223 yr #1 on iTunes - the performance on The One Show tonight should help keep it there for a while too.
March 10, 20223 yr Before listening to it, I was worried thinking it could be a Babylon Zoo cover version. :D Wow, it's the best UK entry since Jade imo. It has already got number 5 on Eurovision odds and that's definitely a good sign. :o https://eurovisionworld.com/odds/eurovision Edited March 10, 20223 yr by Jason
March 10, 20223 yr Doesn't bode well for it. Only old people use itunes :( It bodes well for the zero interest the UK usually has in our Eurovision entry. If acts could get a hit out of entering in their home territory it would encourage participation. At the moment all acts are guaranteed is losing their record deal and 1 week in the Top 100 if they’re lucky,
March 10, 20223 yr Speaking as an old person it's in my itunes basket based on one hearing on clapped-out tinny laptop speakers! never heard of him, but the man has a great voice, it's a classy song, and a production that has that Euro-appeal. I've been slagging off UK entries for years (deservedly), best entry since Children Of The Universe (I loved it even if hardly no-one else did!), best chance of doing well since Blue and it sounds to me like it could be the 3rd top 10 of the 21st century. Even if it underperforms it should still be clear of the 20's. First serious attempt to do well since Mr Lloyd-Webber got fed up with all the "everyone hates us" and showed that if you stick a decent entry in people will vote for it.
March 10, 20223 yr Children of the Universe is still my favourite UK entry, although the performance did sadly fall a bit flat on the night with one of the worst stagings we’ve ever had. One of the very few times I’ve thrown all my weight behind our entry
March 10, 20223 yr This is actually pretty good :o (I've swear I've heard that melody in the verses in another song before, can't quite put a name to it though), I mean it's still not the best I believe we could do (ie. a widely known, current artist and a more unique genre), but I think they've got closer to a more accurate song in modern Eurovision, this feels like with a great performance and effort promoting it, it could do pretty well. I feel like a 'Jesus flying through the sky' performance enacted could actually be quite memorable as well.
March 10, 20223 yr Have been obsessed with this song for the last week. It's our best entry in many, many years and I honestly think he's the best vocalist we've sent in my lifetime (I'm 38). The man is a crazy good singer. Amazing live vocals are not something we need to be concerned about with him. I'm thrilled it's getting a positive reaction and I just hope that they do something really eye-catching and quirky with the staging. It wouldn't hurt to have him singing it high up off the stage, wind machine blowing, mimicking the video. That chorus will really soar over the audience in the arena. March 10, 20223 yr I’d say it’s the best since Blue for me based on 1 listen. It’s definitely not embarrassing anyway. I’m impressed!
March 10, 20223 yr Yeah it's certainly a much better effort since Molly's excellent entry for sure. I'd like to live in hope that we can get in the top 10 but tbh even if it lands just outside its not too dreadful still. Anythings gotta be an improvement on last place - low top 20 area. March 11, 20223 yr I honestly think he's the best vocalist we've sent in my lifetime (I'm 38). The man is a crazy good singer. Amazing live vocals are not something we need to be concerned about with him. Yeah I agree, discovered him on Tiktok singing Defying Gravity and no joke it's one of the most astonishing things I've heard in a LONG time. I think this song is kind of a waste of his vocal talent but it's growing on me a bit
March 11, 20223 yr I can see its appeal but I think I need to listen to it alot more for it to click with me, it's still way better than embers which I never really took to.
March 11, 20223 yr This is growing on me so quickly, and the more I hear it amongst the other songs, I'm really cautiously optimistic we could have a top 10 with it!!
