I think all the colour vinyl variants from Lana’s store haven’t been included yet. I got a dispatch note for the yellow one today so that will be included tomorrow - the other colour is delayed to next week.

I’m guessing there is streaming data missing in which case Adele is probably on about 50k she should do about 100k this week
He didn’t get a #1 album in the 80s as SWTP reached #1 in 1990
Indeed. The closest EJ got to a #1 album in the 80s was a number 2 new entry with 'Breaking Hearts' in June 1984 which was kept from the top by 'Legend' by Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Didn’t know Elton didn’t score a number one album in the 80s. I’m surprised the album with ‘I’m Still Standing’, ‘I Guess That’s Why They Called It The Blues’ and ‘Kiss The Bride’ sequence of singles didn’t get to number one, think that was looked at as his big comeback at the time!

'Too Low For Zero': it peaked at number 7 in 1983. I think it might be his biggest selling album during the 80s though.

Ah must have been a busy week or something, some great releases!
Coldplay coming for that 88% drop in sales.

You think they're only going to sell 4.5k the entire rest of the week? x

I really hope Lana manages to at least rise to #2 by the end of the week (she has a chance if some currently missing physical sales get added on) to keep up her streak of top 2 peaks. Definitely looks like Elton has the #1 now, fair play, I didn't think he'd do this well but I guess it makes sense! (I have heard his album being randomly plugged on Heart a few times alongside the upcoming Ed and Adele albums actually)

Would you guys say that Lana is less popular than she used to be?

Not necessarily. That's what usually happens when an artist releases two albums in quick succession (with barely any promotion, not to mention).

I may be wrong here but not many of my real life friends like Lana much or discuss her.

She’s someone with a huge fanbase of like loyal stan like fans but I don’t think she has much casual support if that makes sense?

She’s definitely popular though with her loyal dedicated fanbase though and she’s heavily discussed online.

Well certainly not as big as during the ‘Born to Die’ era which sold 7 million worldwide.

Despite only reaching #7, it was the 16th biggest album of 1983

I think the biggest problem with Lana's album is the zero support she's got, R1 has ignored it like the plague

and same with Spotify... so zero airplay zero streaming support...

Lana's last successful album was Ultraviolence (deserved, her best album by far).

Personally loved NFR and the critics did as well, think that built up the anticipation for Chemtrails which for me was her first Album that was a bit of a disappointment. Blue Banisters a step up again but unfortunately not the buzz this time.

'Norman Fucking Rockwell!' had a longer chart run than 'Ultraviolence' though. I think it's hard to argue that album wasn't successful. x

(you are correct about 'Ultraviolence' being her best album tho)

Highly doubted… i dont think she will do 100k this week.. maybe 80-90

In the UK it did ok but overall it wasn't even close to the success she had till Ultraviolence. Love her cover of Doin' Time though.

I'll take some time to listen to her new album, hope it's worth it.
