Happy Elton looks to be #1 in the album chart!

Also Adele's figures are a bit better than I thought - likely due to her streams now stabilising. Given missing data, she's likely on/around 75k. I would says she's on track for ~105-110k by Friday. Not bad at all!

ALTHOUGH!! Saying that, Hello was pretty floppy too tbh. It only lastes two weeks at the top before dropping like a brick, and the terrible Sorry won, clambering over it, like Speec Up Ya Leef vs Barbie Girl. She has never been a singles artist, and has ALWAYS focused on albums, not singles. Sorry "sold" like 3 million and Hello did about half thst in the end, but her album stomped his like walking on grapes in order to learn languages.

Putting those album sales from Music Week in order:

1 Elton John 22,921 (18,959 physical + 2,592 downloads + 1,370 streams)

2 Duran Duran 15,215 (13,886 physical + 1,067 downloads + 262 streams)

3 Lana Del Rey ??,??? (11,694 physical + ???? downloads + 1,904 streams)

4 Biffy Clyro 13,340 (11,483 physical)

5 Coldplay 10,557 (>1,904 streams)

so I don't think Lana can be far off #2 once her downloads are taken into account.

Do you guys think that Blue Banisters deserves to be Lana’s lowest charting album to date?

Hoping it can sneak a #2 peak which will be a good achievement considering how prolific Lana is recently!

Lots of activity from Elton and Duran Duran - it won’t change the result but will push up album sales higher for both

Duran Duran - Signed CDs, Signed Vinyl, 2 x 400 capacity Q&A shows

Elton - Amazon £6.99 CD, Signed Bundle,

Full MW update coming shortly, thanks to everyone who has been patient for one of us to be available!!
Adele the new Jessie J :D

Lucky enough to outsell Jesy Nelson at this rate never mind Jessie J! Is Taylor asking for her original release date back yet?

Hello literally has 2.5m chart sales and is currently her second biggest selling single.

What will it take for a song to not get labelled a flop on this forum?

NO OTHER SALES INFO

Shame ABBA is so far down already as it would've been nice to see them get 3 top 40 hits from one album.
Clean Bandit had lasted long enough

Shame their remix of Whitney is doing nothing in the charts

I wounded who be 2nd big album next week

1 Ed Sheeran number 1 by Miles ahead

Elton drop 2 or another new album

 Lol, is it ok if we discuss if ABBA’s comeback is a flop now? ‘Just a Notion’ is going to be their lowest peaking hit ever.

 They're a bunch of 70 year olds releasing in a market where streaming is the key to single chart success.

j/k ABBA are nasty filthy FLOPS and will be dropped by Polar - their careers are OVER!!!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

‘Just a Notion’ is going to be their lowest peaking hit ever.

You're right about that, their previous lowest was #38 for I Do x5

(think the flop jokes are wearing a bit thin at this point...)
