Welcome to the sixth Chart Forum quiz in the current series - Song Title Anagrams II!!

Animation_of_the_anagram_'Programmed_animation_=_In_time,_anagrams_do_romp!'.gif

Yes, you read that right, it’s only week 4 and here’s the quiz for week 6!! I’m launching it early to give you longer to figure them out than last time! Because of this, I won’t be forfeiting any host compensation points this time :P

As with my Anagrams Quiz in the last series, there are 30 anagrams of song titles for you to unscramble. This time around, all of these were Top 10 hits in the UK singles chart since 1991. The anagrams as they are presented don’t necessarily describe the song or artist. Punctuation marks (brackets, apostrophes, etc.) can be freely added to or removed from the anagram or the song title.

For example:

FETCH PENTAGON TILES

is an anagram of:

CAN’T STOP THE FEELING! - Justin Timberlake

Points are scored for each correct song title, and the artist alongside each. For bonus points, there is once again a specific theme connecting these songs and a reason they are in this order, for you to guess. There is an extra bonus question too:

1. PLUG HIT IT

2. LET LIES LIFT

3. A LORRY MOVING US

4. VOLLEY ON

5. USUALLY I OPT NOPE

6. MARTIN BUCKET

7. DRIVE ELEVEN ROUTES

8. FRESH ICONIC PANS

9. ROUND UP JAM

10. OUR DUES

11. HELP NO TEE

12. NUT TO PUNCTURE ONION

13. MODESTLY BOOMED

14. PON DE REPLAY, RIO

15. SHEERAN HITS IN FUN THEATRE

16. THE MILLENNIA KING

17. AT MILESTONE

18. NICE TOFT

19. PATRIOTIC RIDE

20. ROD SHAKER

21. MORN TUNE

22. THE BRIGHT TUNES

23. HITCHED LOVER BARK

24. BOLDER FOR KNITTING THEM

25. SWING

26. OX NURSING UDDER

27. WHY HOG IT ALL, EH?

28. GO ON FAUNS

29. HID BLING’S GLINT

30. TEENAGERS DREAM

BONUS: Connection between these songs

BONUS: Order of these songs

EXTRA BONUS: Question number at which the following anagram could have appeared instead, in keeping the connection and order:

NOW I BAIT TO GO FOR POSSIBLE WIDGETS

Scoring

2 points for each correct song title

1 point for each correct artist, or 0.5 points if partly correct (as last time, I won’t deduct points for leaving out featured artists)

In some cases, the same song title will be shared by more than one artist. Only one will completely fit the theme, however if the song of that title by the artist you have given has been in the Top 10 since 1991, even if it does not fit the theme, the artist will score 0.5 points.

If the anagram can unscramble to more than one different song title (unlikely but possible I guess), provided it has been in the Top 10 since 1991, that song title will also score 2 points and the artist will score 0.5 points even if neither fit the theme.

BONUS: Up to 6 points will be awarded for the theme. As last time, there are a few specific elements to this, so you will score 1 or 2 points for each of these you mention.

BONUS: 4 points will be awarded for the reason the songs are in this order.

EXTRA BONUS: 5 points will be awarded for the Question number at which the anagram shown could have appeared in keeping with the connection and order. Alternatively, up to 3 points can be awarded for the correct song title and artist for this anagram, in the same way as Questions 1-30. If you give both a Question number and title/artist in your answer, only the Question number will be scored (and then only if correct).

Total scores are out of 105 points

To enter, please you could fill in the Google form HERE otherwise PM'ing me is fine too.

If you have any queries on any of this, please comment below and I'll answer them. Deadline for entries is 11.59pm (UK time) on Sunday 14 November and results should follow the next day. Good luck!

As nobody has entered so far, I’ve added an extra bonus question to the quiz, as explained in the OP.

There is a new anagram with up to 5 points on offer: you can either give the song title and artist for this anagram to score up to 3 points in the same way as the earlier questions OR you can give the Question number (1-30) at which the anagram shown could have appeared in keeping with the connection and order, with a score of 5 points if correct.

I've got a few of these now and I *think* I might have the connection (although I have no idea about the order)

If you entered last time, your first week scores are a huge underperformance by your previous standards...

...as nobody has entered this one yet.

Don't worry, there's still plenty of time :)

Last bump for this until after Mango's quiz closes tomorrow. I'll accept answers in more than one go, in case anyone wants to submit the ones they've got and add to them later.
These are infuriating!

Yes they are.

I think I've got maybe three so far!!

I’ve got about 8 I think. Have an idea of the theme but it’s only a complete guess.

I've got a few and think I have a vague idea of what the connection might involve but not sure about the specifics or how it could relate to them been in a particular order.

Need to spend more time on this.

I'm up to about 14 now... but the other answers I've got have put pay to what I thought the theme may be

Just made it into double figures - thanks to everyone who's entered so far or at least given these a go!

I think at least a couple of people still have this in transit, so I'll extend the deadline to Monday 8pm - by then it will have been open for a full 3 weeks! Depending how the football is going, I'll start the answers thread sometime around 8.30pm.
