S express no.66 with 66 points! They almost got my vote, though I disliked it when it came out.

love the MJ song but always feel like no one else does...

the OCC did credit Siedah Garrett:

I JUST CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU

MICHAEL JACKSON WITH SIEDAH GARRETT

EPIC 5 1

Oh they didn't used to (iirc) but I'm happy they now have, it's certainly a duet. :D

I gave it more points than you!

^ :)

I think the occ added sedan Garrett retroactively cos she's not mentioned on the single cover

Garrett is actually credited on the reverse side of the record sleeve but not on the front for some reason.
Theme from S'express is easily my favourite of those three songs. The bit where the female vocalist is screaming near the end is certainly a moment and the horn samples are great in it too.

Although I think Kylie's Hand On Your Heart is quite weak, the video doesn't do it any favours.

Having watched that TOTP performance, it's a much better experience.

Not bothered by the other two tracks.

S-Express for it's time at least is a brilliantly left-field chart topper and it still holds up today imo! Like both the other tracks as well but wouldn't be among my favourites from their retrospective artists.

Yeah the screaming moment in this is epic. S Express didn't deserve to be snubbed by the DANCE mod. :drama: :P

On the other hand (on your heart) poor Kylie. If only her biggest fans had voted (Feelthefever and pippa) :(

NO 64- 72 POINTS

Xanadu Olivia Newton John & ELO (Voter: Danvember- 1 point, King Rollo- 19 points, Jason- 22 points, Popchartfreak- 16 points, Last Dreamer- 14 points)- No 1 for 2 weeks in July 1980

And why shouldn’t the daughters of Zeus come to earth to inspire someone to open a nightclub? Yes the critics may have panned the film “Xanadu” but the soundtrack was a hit with this becoming Newton-John’s final No 1 here as well as ELO’s only chart topper.

NO 63- 73 POINTS

Stand And Deliver Adam & The Ants (Voter: Rabbitfurcoat- 28 points, Jade- 24 points, *Dandy- 21 points) – No 1 for 5 weeks in May/June 1981

The first real sensations of the 80s bow out here with a track that went straight in at No 1. Heralding the emergence of new romantics and the aesthetics of new pop it came with an eye catching video that helped them create a strong brand. It only attracted three voters but they all put it in their top 10’s

Right back to the first chart topper of the decade with a record breaking 8 voters giving it something.

Stand and Deliver is the biggest loss there.

Adam and the Ants were really quite liked in my house and the Prince Charming album was well played.

Also loved Goody Two Shoes and a few of the tracks off Adam's Strip album.

Only 3 of us voted for Stand and Deliver?!!!

SHAME ON YOU ALL ASIDE FROM RFC AND JADE

SHAME ON YOU ALL ASIDE FROM RFC AND JADE

THIS!!!!

I've been waiting for it to drop out for a while, after the early exit of 'Prince Charming', so it's hung around longer than I expected... but only 3 of us! :o

Not a fan #sorrynotsorry

Was tempted to vote for Xanadu, loved it as kid, but hasnt aged well

Brass in Pocket is great, always loved their singles

All three of those are good songs. My favourite is probably Stand and Deliver. Our very own dandy* highwayman himself gave it a lot of points!
I definitely wasn't expecting it to drop out this early. Another of my high pointers leaves! :( After being almost the last to have a vote revealed I suspect I'm now well down that table

Xanadu did a bit better than I was expecting.

Brass In Pocket and Stand And Deliver are both good songs. Antmusic is my favourite song by Adam and the Ants.

‘Brass in Pocket’ my favourite of that trio, wonderful broody guitar riff and vocals from Chrissie!
