What's Another Year Johnny Logan (Voter: Last Dreamer)- No 1 for 2 weeks in May 1980

Eurovision takes a hit here but two other winners from the competition are still to come.

I love Duran Duran but their best songs didn’t make number one. The Reflex is easily the better of the two though.

I'm really surprised that Is The Something I Should Know? is so low.

I can remember when it went straight in at No.1 and me and my brother were really surprised as not many songs did that back then.

As others have said though, The Reflex is the much better Duran chart topper.

Together We Are Beautiful is a very nice song. For Duran Duran, I agree that The Reflex is better than Is There Something I Should Know.

I prefer Is There Something I Should Know as its a nostalgia trip back to the first Now! Album.

The movie version was the hit in 1980 (released 1970) but the instrumental TV theme version was the popular version - hearing it with words was a novelty in 1980. Painless was a dentist who got depressed when he got dumped so they held a mock suicide funeral party for him in the movie - hence the meaning of the lyrics. Very dark comedy film...!

Ah I see thanks Pop!

For that Duran Duran song, I always think of the line "You're about as easy as a nuclear war".

The Johnny Logan and Fern Kinney songs are both OK.

Never understood the popularity of Duran Duran

They just seemed to endure longer than many other new wave/new romantic groups of the early 80s in terms of popularity. My favourite song from them is actually 'My Own Way', a great disco tune!

Their 1993 hits were great.

Ordinary World is my favourite by them- fantastic tune!

Of their #1s I definitely prefer The Reflex though.

Vienna is overrated rubbish.

Is There Something I Should Know was UK # 1, when I was born.

allSTARS* cover

Ordinary World is also my #1 Duran Duran song
