January 7, 20223 yr Minor spoiler question: Does anyone know how many episodes there will be in this season? I think 15 - 13 have been filmed and then the reunion and finale
January 7, 20223 yr Author Time to adjust my predictions! I had assumed the normal 12 episodes :D thanks!
January 7, 20223 yr I've just done a minor spoiler thread for challenges and lipsync songs but no placements if anyone just wants to know bits but not everything
January 7, 20223 yr I'm up for work at 7 and it's not even my usual shift ffs, homophobia pure and simple
January 8, 20223 yr Author Looks like it will be a single premiere instead with episode 2 coming next week! anything to get that WOW+ subscription money a bit longer I quite enjoyed it! I didn't anticipate Ru being both the most engaged I've seen in a few seasons and the most unhinged/unpredictable!
January 8, 20223 yr ugh rly mad we didn’t get both episodes today! and also sad that we are getting eliminations already ☹️ judging was once again WEIRD but we ended up with the correct bottom two. was so strange how kornbread got a lot of negative critiques yet still won over willow. bosco served the most boring burlesque possible and alyssa was unfairly critiqued i think ! i would have had WIN willow HIGH kornbread, kerri SAFE alyssa, bosco BTM 2 june, orion
January 8, 20223 yr Completely agree with that order you gave Chris! Willow should have really won for a talent show routine that actually made me LOL for the first time in ages at Drag Race. Although Kornbread was my #2 so also happy for her to get the win. Shame about Orion going already but it felt quite an easy one to go as I didn't really get what she was about and the comedy just flat way more than any other of the routines. Enjoying the use of real songs in the talent show rather than weird royalty free music - Only Time was perfect!
January 8, 20223 yr Loving Willow even more after that... cackled at the toaster. I think from the start you could tell that Bosco was the only queen to actually get what Willow's aesthetic was all about.
January 8, 20223 yr Author Kerri was my winner this episode between the performance & runway. I'm reverting to my initial prediction for her as overall winner now. In the performances I saw online before her lipsync & dancing were not good but she put those to bed this ep! Also love her energy. I liked Willow enough but that runway was hideous. I know that was the point but still. Wiwwow Piww already infuriates me too and also I don't get the reference Ru is making? A big pill and a little pill, what? Kornbread is great & smart to target her performance to Ru. I see some early favouritism for Bosco who I thought was just ok this episode.
January 8, 20223 yr I'm really confused as to how Kornbread won, she was good and I do love her personality but it was just a bog standard lipsync mix, the song wasn't that memorable and the performance didn't pop that much for me. Willow's was easily my fave as it was different and set her apart, in terms of what informs and inspires her drag and what she brings. Willow is easily my initial fave, I love both her wacky humour and her drag style. There's so much more to drag than being pretty, she has that "touch of ugly" as she said herself that I love. Not so keen on Alyssa, found her super annoying oops, Orion and June seem a little out of their depth but we'll see what comes of June, there's definitely potential. I was disappointed by Bosco tbh, I wanted more from her performance which was just bog standard burlesque for me. I like Kerri more than I expected, she seems warmer and more fun than I thought she would be and her routine was great!
January 8, 20223 yr Fantastic opening episode, already better than season 13 (well S14's debut is better than S13's) for the moment, hopefully further episodes keeps up the pace. I'm already loving this cast & already very excited for the next set of queens to enter the werkroom. The talent show was AMAZING & so glad everybody done something different & not just 10 lipsyncs in a row (like other drag race talent shows). Alyssa Hunter guitar & lipsync performance was fine but do agree that it wasn't quite up to par with some of the others & didn't really show her true-self (hot guy though), it will be interesting to see how she does in further challenges. Hell if she used a real guitar then this could have been far better. Bosco - Her burlesque sequence was safe at best & didn't really deserve a high placement. But it was good, however when compared to Roxxy Andrew's burlesque performance from AS2, this doesn't really compare. Bosco has an interesting style & can't wait to see what she does next. June Jambalya - Started off strong enough with her African dance, but quickly ran out of steam & that damn headband dropping was very distracting. Fully deserved of a bottom 2 placement. Not sure about this queen, seems likeable enough but that won't be enough. Kerri Colby - LOVE her so far & do agree that she should have picked up that jump rope sooner as once her act got going it was fantastic. Orion Story - Why do these comedy skits always fall flat in these talent shows. Although this did have some funny moments (unlike other stand-ups through the years), but those punchlines didn't quite hit & sadly was the worst of the show. Shame she's been eliminated so early, but I've got a feeling that after the opening episodes are done that they'll bring back the eliminated queens. Kornbread - Excellent performance that showed off her personality perfectly & it was a close call for the win between her & Willow, but the decision was justified. Willow Pill - OMG I'm already obsessed with this queen, I gotta admit that I did underestimate her when she walked into the werkroom in that basic outfit, but that talent show performance was something else. Original & hilarious, glad someone finally took a huge risk in these talent shows & it paid off beautifully. If there was a top 2 like the previous split premieres then it would have easily been Willow & Kornbread.
January 9, 20223 yr That was some wacky judging giving Kornbread the win with those comments from Michelle about the tights and the overall look. I do like her though, the performance was decent and she seems like a great queen, so I'm not mad. I'm sad that they've started the eliminations already though because I'd have loved to see more of Orion. Think it was unfortunate and a bit too risky to go for comedy in the very first challenge with not a lot of time to make an impression. :(
January 11, 20223 yr Wait the second half is out too?! I've only seen the first one and all I can really say is I'm OBSESSED with Kornbread, I was in absolute kinks if she even so much as looked at the camera lmao
January 13, 20223 yr First 10 mins is out, Jorgeous is a STAR already she just dominates the screen effortlessly. I feel like her, Kornbread, Willow and Angeria could be fan faves for sure
January 14, 20223 yr Author Episode 2 launches tonight! I'm predicting (blind) Angeria and Lady Camden in the top 2, outside chance Maddy Morphosis. But I'd love Jorgeous to pull a Denali!
January 15, 20223 yr Kornbread is love at first sight for me ...I know the season has just started but I'm calling that she might be the first big queen (I hope this is okay to say it) to be crowned!!! Episode 2 wasn't as good as Episode 1...most of the talents were lip-syncers/dancers but I enjoyed Jorgeous dancing to 'Last Dance'...that was unexpected song choice but surprisingly amazing!!! Definitely the weakest got sent home and the whole copy/paste make-up look of Crystal Methyd was bothering me, so no big loss there for me!!!
