No because Peru is actually a bop and I appreciate the turnover of #1 and if Ed Sheeran hadn’t spent half a year monopolising the #1 position I would be nothing but delighted about this.

I just pray that against all odds that gross cheese fest that is apparently due a Taylor Swift remix doesn’t go to #1!

Not yet - it’s still Westlife x

Trying to think of another act who have aimed for #1 multiple times... I'm sure it'll come to me...

THIS!!!

Westshite are still worse, but half a billi Cheesy Fad comes close! The Shéts are in 3rd place, oe maybe that's Drake...

If Sheeran sinks to a new low of doing a piss poor cover of some MOR 70s shit i'll get back to you on that one. :kink:
Amazing to see two Meat Loaf tracks in the top ten  even if they probably won't stay there come Friday. How many of them were played on the chart show?
Wow 3 new number ones this month, what is going on??

I'd like to think it was a sign the tide was turning enough to return us to a comfortable middle ground where #1 turnover was concerned but it's probably just a blip.

2 were played- the 2 that made the top 10

Was hoping Meat Loaf's third song would be 'Paradise By The Dashboard Light', I'm not sure I have ever heard 'Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad' though tbf! At least the obvious top 2 are both undeniable classics ofc, hope they're (if not all three of them) both safe to be at least top 40 and 'Bat Out Of Hell' possibly with a chance of top 20?

30,000 signed CDs strike again for Ed :deadbanana: I expect it'll probably drop off by the end of the week like 'Overpass Graffiti' did but I'd love 'Peru' to be a #1, would be a big moment for the afrobeats genre even if it took a western collaboration to get there. (Of course there have been afrobeats artists/tracks that got to #1 before like 'One Dance' and 'Own It' but I think this would be a first for songs whose lead artist is actually African?)

Also 'The Family Madrigal' for top 10 this week please!!

Yard Act have announced two more signings for this week, saying “We can no longer pretend that we don’t want a number 1 album” looking forward to seeing their numbers tomorrow!

I don't mind Peru but think it might end up like Overpass Graffitti, which also was #1 in the Sun Mids thanks to the physical, don't think Peru is doing well enough on streams but it all depends on how many intern-signed CDs they have ;)

I dont remember Westlife doing duet after duet with one the most famous acts during that time and/or pushing for ‘signed’ copies during the week to make sure they get the no1. Also i dont remember westlife getting a no1 and the next week covering the same song with the x factor winner to get 2 no1s with one stone.

While the Meatloaf effect was very short-lived on streaming, at least Bat out of Hell got 3 days with good download sales on iTunes, hopefully that helps... especially on Friday they were doing like 5 times more than Bruno

Yeah very true, I think if Meat Loafs 3 songs stay top 40 it would be an achievement. As for the album chart? There could be alot of hes albums re charting, I think he has a big shot at number one.

The only thing and most important one at that is can people buy it? The cd,s are out of stock everywhere.
