February 4, 20224 yr Author Good to see Luude finally make the playlist! A bit of flute was definitely what was missing from daytime R1 :) They seem to have settled into a playlist count of 15, 13 and 10 respectively. Can't understand why they haven't added Tame Impala yet, they normally love them :unsure:
February 4, 20224 yr I just really wanna see Alesso + Katy and Ella Henderson get added. :( I find it so impressive how Charli is still able to get such great support from Radio 1 a decade into her career, despite never truly setting the charts alight and most of her contemporaries (like Marina for example) having long lost their support.

Great song though!

It's a pretty good dance song, I first heard it in November but it's only making waves on Spotify now so makes sense to keep it around, hopefully a future top 40

February 4, 20224 yr Pleased for the quick ascent to the top for Holly Humberstone and Charli XCX going straight to the B-List. I was half expecting ArrDee x Aitch to be insta added though it’ll surely be added next week. Hopefully Wilkinson will be moved up to the A-List next week!
February 4, 20224 yr Ah so they were just being slow with Luude then - I really wouldn't have been shocked if they just snubbed it (and them being this slow makes me think it still might end up stalling on B/C) but happy to see it showing up now anyway. Think the moment has probably been and gone for 'Get Into It (Yuh)' and the single push is unlikely to revive it enough to finally go top 40 but still a banger anyway. Not heard the other new additions yet.
February 5, 20224 yr I do wonder what the discussions are with regards to dance adds on the R1 playlist meetings there some songs they absolutely rinse like the DOD track and others they add really late even though they are moving up the chart. It’s not like there’s some that are unique, a lot are very standard tracks that have been done before each generation. The only unique one I can think off hand is Fred Again & Marea last spring.
February 6, 20224 yr A lot of their adds are given rotation on the early morning Radio 1 Dance show. D.O.D was played a lot there first before moving into the full daytime rotation. Luude however is a chart hit so I believe they must try and balance between what they want to play and what the public want to hear.
