February 10, 20232 yr Yeah I was expecting much worse. I wonder if it’ll hang around the lower end of the top 100 for a few weeks.
February 10, 20232 yr Oh that's good for her despite the #11 peak last week. Especially when none of the singles from it have been hits really.
February 10, 20232 yr I was saying #11 wasn't that bad given she isn't really a bonafide STAR and KNOWN NAME last week and everyone was berating it and now a fall to #63(!) is considered a success by the people that were calling #11 a flop :') It's disastrous a drop - and shows there really isn't much interest in the album in its second week and she isn't really cared for much outside of her not too large "fanbase" that bought it last week. Expecting it to be #89 instead is probably like a couple hundred sales difference so is it really much better than that? The reaction to #63 being better than the reaction to #11 is hilarious - the album chart is a joke / or people are trying to big up her success moreso to make it seem like there's still a shelflife to the era / make it seem like she's actually doing well with this :kink:
February 11, 20232 yr She's absolutely not doing well by any stretch of the imagination and this era has been a complete disaster in the commercial stakes  I'm just taking what small mercies I can from it  Edited February 11, 20232 yr by Jessie Where

February 11, 20232 yr Author A lot of Top 10 albums fall straight out of the Top 100 in week 2, so I’ll take 11-63 as something of a win even if that seems a bit ludicrous on the surface. All these albums with higher peaks in 2022 fell as low as #63 or worse: 01-63 Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott - N.K-Pop 01-71 Yungblud - Yungblud 01-72 Frank Turner - FTHC 01-96 The Wombats - Fix Yourself Not the World 01-139 Don Broco - Amazing Things 02-74 Sigrid - How to Let Go 02-118 Porcupine Tree - Closure/Continuation 02-128 Marillion - An Hour Before It's Dark 02-132 George Michael - Older [Reissue] 02-187 Easy Life - Maybe in Another Life 02-xxx Father John Misty - Chloe and the Next 20th Century 03-72 Jack White - Fear of the Dawn 03-88 Placebo - Never Let Me Go 03-92 Rina Sawayama - Hold the Girl 03-105 The Snuts - Burn the Empire 03-140 Jamie Webster - Moments 03-146 Megadeth - The Sick The Dying and the Dead 03-197 Sports Team - Gulp 03-xxx Sea Girls - Homesick 04-91 Beabadoobee - Beatopia 04-104 James Bay - Leap 04-109 Chase & Status - What Came Before 04-110 Marcus Mumford - (Self-Titled) 04-136 Johnny Marr - Fever Dreams Pts 1-4 04-140 Everything Everything - Raw Data Feel 04-155 Jack White - Entering Heaven Alive 04-158 Shinedown - Planet Zero 04-174 Pale Waves - Unwanted 04-xxx Sea Power - Everything Was Forever 04-xxx Manic Street Preachers - Know Your Enemy [Reissue] 05-87 The Smile - A Light for Attracting Attention 05-93 The Black Keys - Dropout Boogie 05-103 The Divine Comedy - Charmed Life - The Best Of 05-143 Kylie Minogue - Impossible Princess [Reissue] 05-173 Panic! So honestly I understand and agree with the reaction to that in this thread! There’s at least some indication of mild interest in her album, which it should be stressed doesn’t include anything bigger than a #83 peaking single.
February 11, 20232 yr I just dont get why this era is flopping, every song is such a bopppp! Poor ava, she deserves so much better
February 11, 20232 yr After the #11 debut it had all the signs of a top 10-20 debut then out of the top 100 type of run. The fact it’s stayed in is good. Should it have done better? Most probably yes, but it is what it is.
February 12, 20232 yr I was saying #11 wasn't that bad given she isn't really a bonafide STAR and KNOWN NAME last week and everyone was berating it and now a fall to #63(!) is considered a success by the people that were calling #11 a flop :') It's disastrous a drop - and shows there really isn't much interest in the album in its second week and she isn't really cared for much outside of her not too large "fanbase" that bought it last week. I'd say this is unfair and not sure if it's just because you don't like her or not? It happens to a lot of pop artists, however, they are still able to get sell out tours and sustain a solid fanbase. Even people who probably aren't seemed to be the same calibre as the likes of Carly & Tove - Madison Beer, Sabrina Carpenter all have recently had sold out tours and a solid fanbase, with sustained interest in them but isn't hugely reflective in their chart history (maybe due to the way we consume music now and their demographic) and I'm pretty sure Ava could do the same should she go on tour, I definetly think she has a solid fanbase but probably won't get much more commercial success but doesn't mean to say there is little to no interest in her as an artist exactly.
February 12, 20232 yr I think that's what I mean! That those artists have toured their music (some non-stop) but Ava hasn't despite releasing two albums. I think she should tour because that is a key way to secure a loyal fan base but also explore your music in a different way and let it connect with people in new ways. She is apparently touring for the first time this year so that's exciting at least. Touring is also a lot more profitable than simply releasing music so her label should be fighting for it too.
February 12, 20232 yr I think it’s good that she’s finally doing a tour. We also have to take in the fact that she wasn’t able to do a tour circuit with her debut because it was released during the pandemic, so maybe doing it now with a more extensive discography/more recognizable songs under her belt would be a better way to get word of mouth going.
February 12, 20232 yr I didn't connect with any of the pre-release material unfortunately but I'm loving the album track 'Last Night On Earth' punchy intergalactic 80s synth realness
February 17, 20232 yr Absolutely obsessed with 'Dancing's Done' and I do hope it becomes the next single :cheeseblock:
February 18, 20232 yr Absolutely obsessed with 'Dancing's Done' and I do hope it becomes the next single :cheeseblock: BBC is playing 'Ghost', hopefully 'Dancing's Done' is the one to get the big push after that. But then the BBC was also playing 'Faster' by The Saturdays and that never happened as a single, so who knows.
February 22, 20232 yr The usual 4 cities. YAWN! I'm TIRED of artists only doing the big 4 cities :drama:
