Will be an interesting battle this week - Charli had 2 massive signings on Friday (4 hours at Rough Trade and then 2 hours at HMV) so would have pulled in decent sales from that - if she doesn’t hold on it’ll be due to lack of vinyl etc.,

Sea Girls have sent out a mailer and been all over socials that their formats are now £4.99 on their store, they have also reduced on Amazon and HMV.

Again, formats seem to be letting Arrdee down - they have 2 CD variants and that’s it I think?

In fact it feels weird ArrDee is now underperforming after Flowers/ War and Aitch is now doing well, when he has struggled the last year to land a hit pre War :D

Guess people might see him more as a singles artist at this stage in his career. Think he will overtake Feeder and get a respectable top 3 and it might stay on the charts a while.

'Packs and Potions' on ACR - hate it when great tracks like that go to ACR on their 10th week especially from an exciting new artist such as Hazey.
It feels so good to see Charli midweek number 1 regardless of the end result, she is massively underrated and deserves some recognition finally. Hopefully she can hold on.
Devastated to see Rosalía so low :(

The market for Spanish language music (even the really popular stuff) is nearly nonexistent in the UK outside of the odd hit song that has a big Anglophone name attached. Her last album didn't make the top 100, even Bad Bunny has never had a top 100 album here. Midweek top 40 is really good for her.

Charlie just announced 3 meet and greets at HMV’s in May, people who want to go have to buy the album from HMV now.

maybe that’ll help her.

I see Feeder have just announced they are doing personally signed Vinyls / CDs via Banquet Records so that should rope in a good few sales for them.

New stuff outside the Top 40 in yesterday's update:

41. ArrDee - Early Hours

46. Mabel, Jax Jones & Galantis - Good Luck

51. BoyWithUke & blackbear - IDGAF

56. Charli XCX - Used To Know Me

64. AnnenMayKantereit & Giant Rooks - Tom's Diner

73. Stray Kids - MANIAC

78. Juice WRLD - Sometimes

80. M Huncho (feat. Giggs) - Lean

84. 4*TOWN - Nobody Like U

85. Tom Grennan - Remind Me

93. Imagine Dragons - Bones

98. Coi Leray (feat. Nicki Minaj) - Blick Blick

I did hope Little Boots would have enough of a fanbase to sell the required amount to at least make the top 100 in the first update. :(

I believe she's only selling it from her webstore so it may not even be chart eligible?

Omg she had a grwat first album and then...

I don't think that's the case (though could be, potentially), but the CD and vinyl both state **Expected to ship in April, 2022**. I know she only got the vinyl test pressing last week!

I've had a ticket to one of their shows/signings for a few weeks now. In fact, Grant's had a chest infection, so needed to pull out of a couple/reduce to signings only (which will have hit them a little!). Pretty sure they're out of the race... Unless more people had the same thing that happened to my order (payment was pre-authed, but never went through... So only despatched now!).

Artist webstores generally are chart eligible, but yeah it looks like those sales aren't going to be counting until next month. I don't think a 2022 Little Boots album is going to be setting the charts on fire regardless though!
Never heard of Sea bloody girls but I will not forgive them if they pass Charli!

Me neither, but I think they want to be the next Spice Girls with a name like that. In fact this whole chart battle reminds me a bit of Spice Girls' Foreve which was just awful, peaking at no.2, so I assume Sea Girls will peak at #2 too. Remains to be seen if thry are the next Spice Girls, but all they need is a SALTY AF small fanbase ro stream them constantly to artificially inflate their poor af physical sales to at look like the next Spices, sooo we'll see. But I don't think so.

I might listen to one of their sangs later on youtube, but an old one, so as not to disturb thr chart battle.

Sea Girls are an indie band, really joyous songs but nothing like Spice Girls. Give them a listen (once the chart battle is done if you don't want Charli to miss out).

This is from their previous album:
