Thank you to all 34 35 of you who confirmed an entry for the third edition of our Masquerade spin off! From this point on you are not your usual country- you are masked as one of the below nations. It's still important that you keep your identity a secret! I will reveal all in the results thread next week.

To encourage a bit of discussion and speculation on who is who I will be posting a separate thread with a poll so we can do just that so watch this space x

Before I reveal the songs I'm going to run through the voting rules.

To make my life a little easier we're going to be doing some Google form voting. Please use THIS LINK to cast your votes

18 point system as you'll see, 18 to your fave 1 point to your 15th fave as per.

You can vote for your own country but not the nation you're masquerading as. So I can give points to Taahino but not to the song I sent as another country.

You have until 28 April @ 23:59 GMT 2022 to get your votes in. I am going to be strict on that though as I want to get this wrapped up by the end of the week as I'll be on holiday from Monday and need my weekend to get sorted! I will accept late votes up to 5pm on 29 April but if you vote within that window you will receive a 15% deduction on your end score. If you don't vote at all that deduction will be 33% so please make sure you're on time!!

I think someone confused him with Markus Schulz who WAS a former BJSC artist I entered only this year!

Ooh I already know the song chosen for me (was a top 20 hit in my personal chart last year!) but it's lush so no complaints here :wub:

Well... this definitely ensures that a song which was already likely to be vetoed anyway will definitely be vetoed from the main contest now :lol:

Haven't heard that Kite track before! Based on what I know from them already I imagine this'll be good, the singer has a really unique voice

 

the Nanobii, Faouzia and Rina songs are all very good from the ones I know

Honestly I skimmed the song list and just trusted y'all!! Zanmatony I'm hoping we can get another entry for but I don't even remember the Altyr song so I'm sure it's still a discovery for most people :')

I spy a couple of songs showing up here that got vetoed from recent main contests (and, as Rob pointed out, one that was already probably about to be thrown out from the current one but definitely will be now :kink:) Good to see 'I Go' getting to appear in the contest in some form I guess! I have already heard 'Vegvisir' too and liked that one almost as much as 'Vega' so a great pick there. edit: oh and 'Close Your Eyes' is also fantastic, somehow completely overlooked that when first looking through the list!

Sorry but I'm kind of giggling at the fact that your response post to someone else confusing Markus Schulz with a different person named Schulz... also has you confusing him with a third different person named Schulz :lol: (unless you secretly also entered the former President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz at some point :thinking:)

 

Don't worry about these things Lindsey, it's not your fault a couple of people misread things - the Altyr thing might be partially my fault as I'm guessing whoever got that may have been under the impression that they were recycling a song from the list I posted and not just an artist oops. Hopefully we can get those reconfirmations ASAP.

Oops. I blame too many Martin’s in the dance industry (Garrix, Solveig, Jensen, Ikin). Yes, to clarify for the person now searching for a new entry for my country… the artists name was MARKUS SCHULZ. But I hope someone else is chosen anyway.
