Oh that's surprising! I thought it would be Frankenstein given its Halloween week and it's the song she's currently pushing with the video etc so that would have made sense but I'm not bad about seeing this hell

What a shame that she's not doing 'Frankenstein'! Still happy she's performing though, quite an inspired pick for the Strictly audience.

Oh, how disappointing! I was really looking forward to, and always assumed she would be singing Frankenstein.

However, maybe an opportunity for her to get a few more fans under her belt! 'This Hell' is one of my most played songs of the album and of course, one of her more instant songs perhaps? Hoping it all pops off tonight!

 

Strictly musical guests typically just stand there while the professionals dance around, so it was cool to see her getting involved with the choreography!

She's such a star! Hope it can get the album another week inside the top 100. How has the Strictly performances been affecting past performers this series?

Such a baffling decision - I'd understand if 'This Hell' was actually a hit but what difference does it make when 99% of the people watching still wouldn't have known the song either way? :drama: I guess 'This Hell' is sort of on theme too but 'Frankenstein' was really perfect for this moment (and a way better song), ah well.

She had a few somewhat rock/metal influenced songs on her debut album so she got put here and just hasn't been moved since ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

She had an excellent performance on Strictly Come Dancing.

I don't mind if her topics are moved to pop... someone just needs to do it 😂

I guess her being signed to Dirty Hit may have had its part to play in her being placed in this forum as well? She'd be way more suited to Pop though!

I created this thread in this forum coz this is where her last album thread was and iirc, there was some kind of agreement that all one stars threads will be in the same genre forum etc.. but yeah, I'd say she's always been pop tbh. *shrugs*

We've had this discussion before - pop is clearly where her music is at this point so I would say this definitely isn't the right forum! Could someone just move it already?

 

On the subject of her Strictly performance though, agreed that 'Frankenstein' would have been more apt for Halloween week but I actually think 'This Hell' was more of an inspired choice, the song is way more instant and more likely to get people into her, which was basically the goal. So well done to whoever made that decision. Brilliant performance too!

I disagree, 'Frankenstein' is easily on the same level of accessibility I'd have thought? It's basically an Ava Max song lol (except actually good x).

I am totally underwhelmed by her Strictly performance. Not sure if it's because I'm still bitter about the choice of song, but also the complete lack of HORROR vibes, the pretty limp chorography and the minimal staging. I don't know why I pictured so much more but my expectations are v high for an artist like her and she didn't deliver imo. I actually think she sucked out so much fun from the song too oops :( the song makes sense with DRAMA - but it's also how I feel about its music video too. She needs to drop this song like 3 months ago and showcase a lot more of what the album has to offer.

Agreed, I love Rina but that wasn’t a very good performance on Strictly.

I didn’t think it was good either, she should have done Frankenstein. Also I’m not convinced the lyrics of This Hell translates well to the audience that Strictly has.

Ps this topic is okay in pop now she’s not rubbing shoulders with a Westlife rate :kink:
