In a two part premiere, we have also got the Snatch Game episode, cannot wait to see this as it's sure to be a high standard and the queens must impersonate TWO characters!! Daphne Guiness is the guest judge.

Jinkx just gave the best Snatch Game EVER, again!! Every single time she opened her mouth was hysterical but especially the singing :rofl: That was just out of this world.

 

I think across both impersonations, I may have put Raja in the top over Trinity, but her Leslie Jordan was easily second behind Jinkx's Judy. I did think it was clever to do that with the Devil and take a character that isn't "real" and doesn't have anything defined really so you could do anything, and it was funny. Yvie and Jaida as expected were the weakest, although Yvie's Boogieman was really creative and smart, and although Jaida was terrible as Prince, it was so funny anyway. I feel like jaida has a unique way of just owning when she’s bad and making it funny anyway. Vivienne was definitely a little disappointing too given what you expect from her, Shea was pretty much just there weirdly. Monet as Mike Tyson was great too.

 

One thing I'll say is it feels like they're doing anything they can to not give negative critiques, like when it was verging on something that could be negative they just didn't really talk about it :lol:

Jinkx's Snatch Game was amazing.

I’m so happy that this is shaping up to be the complete opposite of UK vs The World in actually managing to exceed our expectations!

I think all of the queens not taking it all too seriously and having fun with it whilst still also trying to win is such a perfect mix

 

The general vibe is definitely a perfect antithesis to UKvTW I feel! Like if you think about it, I feel like some of them had something to prove/live up to or it was a kind of last chance but it was for basically nothing so of course they were going to not put as much effort in, whereas with this, they're all winners and don't really have that pressure, plus there's no eliminations so they aren't constantly worrying about not living up to anything, and there's plenty of cash incentive to do well. It's a great mix of them being pretty chill and loosening up to just have fun and enjoy showing their drag, and also taking it seriously so it's the high standard that you expect.

This episode was incredible.

Jinkx's Judy Garland. Oh my GOD. She's such a f***ing star. And I was gagging at her Natasha Lyonne as well - mannerisms, voice, humour. Incredible.

 

I would've put Raja on top as I feel Trinity was using the same joke about Leslie's height over and over but I guess they wanted to have this revenge storyline.

 

No eliminations might make the season's energy seem a bit stagnant so hopefully they switch things up a bit later on somehow.

Jinkx's Judy was great but her first impression was just ok for me. Having said that I have no idea who Natasha Leon is. My top 2 would have been Trinity and either Jinkx or Raja.

 

Have to say Trinity has fully won me back. I'm loving the trans flag representation - although it is weird that it's been on two runways now and no-one has mentioned it. The absolute nerve of doing the devil after the SheDevil thing - which tbf, so what she had a fake account, I'm sure all sorts of celebrities do and shill for themselves.

 

I'm really loving the chemistry of the workroom. These dolls are all experienced with reality tv and it feels like production has eased up on scripting them or pushing them in certain directions for conversation.

If you don't know who Natasha Lyonne is, honestly just watch 5 minutes of her talking about absolutely anything and you'll see how spot on Jinx was :wub: I love Natasha so much as well so this was incredible for me, defo my fave snatch game episode ever just bc of Jinx!

 

Also can we take a second to appreciate Jada's runway!!!

 

This season so far overall is so refreshing which is something we've been lacking in recent seasons, the format is great and I love how everyone is just having a good time, it makes it so much more enjoyable to watch

really high standard again. raja was incredible (top 2 for me), trinity was good too tho. monet’s mike tyson would have been top 2 if it was a single character challenge i’m sureee.

 

both of shea’s were terrible for me and yvie not much better. i don’t know why she didn’t just do a 70s funk/disco icon instead of a made up character? would have worked so ouch better. not sure how i feel about boogeyman/devil as it’s kind of a cheat… there is no impersonation involved !

I think the Devil/Boogeyman and characters like that are clever/funny and something you don't expect, but I do agree that there isn't the same level of work involved as doing an actual person or character so that's my problem with Trinity being top 2. It's similar to when queens do historical figures, some of them can be great (Symone and Rosé for example) but it is easier when you don't have solid known characteristics to hit so I think when it was such a high standard, Trinity being in the top for a character like that was odd. That's just my preference, I do appreciate out of the box thinking for any challenge but it does feel like it's sidestepping Snatch Game a bit and actually Trinity is SO good at it, imagine if we'd got two fully realised dead on characters, because she is capable of that.

yes i i agree actually. i guess maybe i'm being extra harsh because it's all winners, because i have loved choices like that in the past. honestly trinity deserved to be in the top just for 'they changed it to drag queen!!'. when i say i CHOKED!!

Such an amazing snatch game. Even the weakest people did well/got some laughs. The runway was once again amazing too. My top 2 were Jinkx & Trinity, although Raja a close third. I was so happy at how well Raja did. I thought Trinity did better in the lip sync than Jinkx.

 

Hopefully the rest of the season is at such a high standard!

Violet and Gottmik are causing CHAOS online as they booted both of Raja's looks on FPR :lol: I HATE Violet's mean girl yas kween schtik, she is always so needlessly negative when she comments on Drag Race on these kind of shows and like... is it remiss of me to say she's probably the weakest US winner? Like everyone has her on AW2 wishlists but she would get slaughtered surely??? She can only do fashion and even then, Raja paved the way for queens like her.

I don't think Raja had the best look on either episode but I do think she was consistently the best over two episodes — there is so much reference in her work, and every detail is meticulously thought out. She just gets it. I thought Violet would stan tbh.

She said Raja needed to show more skin, so to me it feels like Violet believes a cinched waist fashion look is the only way to do drag more than anything. I haven't actually seen the episodes and what else she has commented on so I can't say for certain but that's the vibe she gives off anyway to me.

I really like Violet but I don't really like her with Mik. I thought Mik was playing a basic spoiled rich kid character on S13 which was clever and funny, but her content since has suggested that actually is her which is kinda annoying.

Mik seems too scared to massively disagree with Violet, which is a shame - because she does have a very unique and forward thinking sense of fashion. If she was paired with someone else, I don't think there's a chance she'd have booted Raja's pleather look.

 

Violet needed to be paired with someone like Trixie who respects her but also laughs at how harsh she is and gives her own opion.

Mik can be really funny, warm and charismatic but with Violet I feel like she morphs into that spoilt rich girl mean girl shit to match which just doesn't work. When Mik did it with Raja, it worked because they had different viewpoints and I think because Mik was a bit more into it and gae detailed critiques, it brought that out of Raja too, but with violet I agree Mik seems more like she doesn't want to disagree with her and it just has dampened the whole thing.

 

I get they most likely wanted a winner to do the winners' FPR, but I agree Trixie or even Bianca would have been I think a better foil to Violet, but I guess those two are too busy.

I f***ing love Violet 😂 People take things like Fashion Photo Ruview too seriously. Like who actually cares if she didn’t care for Raja’s look? It doesn’t change how anyone else has to feel. If anything, it makes me respect her more that she just doesn’t give a shit what anyone else is going to say or what anybody’s reputation is - her opinion is her opinion and that’s just that?

 

I agree about Gottmik being a bit of a useful sheep.
