I got the impression the expensive CD might be ineligible but I doubt that got many sales as it costs a fortune

but the cheap CD version, is just a CD and nothing else, that should count

The cheapest version (at least in the Uk) is a £25 CD and it still comes with some extras.

Oh absolutely fantastic, Would Kate Bush break a record of a gap between first and second #1's?
First Class was the only current Top 40 song which went to ACR after last week then, with Leah Kate and Diplo & Miguel surviving as well as all those confirmed from First Look. Looks like Lizzo is heading to ACR as things stand.

Didn't realise Lizzo could be in ACR territory already. Feels too soon for that even with 'Go' hanging around longer.

Applause (2013) was written and produced by Lady Gaga (with contributors) - has there been anything in the top 5 since?

Don't mention that cheese in here when we're talking about real music!!! She should have released Gypsy instead!!

Fergir Ferg did the production herself on London Bridge and L.A Love.

BBC News website story about the Kate Bush reset.

Thanks for the link, very interesting read. So according to the article, the rules have not been changed but they rather made an exception with Kate

The surge in affection for Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill looks likely to send her to number one this week.

The 80s ballad is already at number two, thanks to its use in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.

Its chances of making the top have now increased, after the Official Charts exempted it from a rule that penalises older songs when they are streamed.

Running Up That Hill is currently the UK's most-streamed song, averaging 700,000 plays per day on Spotify.

In previous weeks, those streams would have counted as 3,500 "sales". This week, that figure will double to 7,000.

That's all because of an esoteric, but important, rule dictating the way the charts are calculated in the streaming era.

?

I'm pretty sure 'LA Love' is a DJ Mustard production.

The point is that Kate Bush is the only writer and producer in this

Any hope Cat Burns will ever get to no1? I loved Go, and as much as Sam smith annoys me, I loved the duet as well!

Unlikely now, with Kate still doing high numbers and Harry set to avoid ACR the way things are going

Exempting JUST Running Up That Hill from the rules they themselves set is ridiculous.

What is the point of the chart? At this point it's basically fanfiction of the actual thing it claims to be measuring.

Literally the rules in place now are that X song has X amount of streams which is divided by 6 if its free and divided by 2 if its over 3 years old and neutralised completely if its the fourth song by that artist that's being played this week, and now - that it's divided by 2 if its over three years old UNLESS the song title is Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush. ?!

I hate to be negative about music but I really don't get that Cat Burns song, no desire to even get through the song once.
