July 22, 20222 yr It's tough because I do think Monet in particular has deserved more wins than she got, and Shea has done well a lot, so if you look at track records they do deserve it in a way. And they did both clearly do the best in this challenge and kill that lipsync. But I don't like that everything hinges on one challenge, like... it basically means none of the other challenges matter? I don't think wins matter that much in a normal season (look at Willow and Yvie with one win) but if the whole gimmick is stars as a point system, then I don't think that should be pretty much invalidated by this ending. But then I'm not sure how else they could have done it, other than having eliminations which I wouldn't have changed for this cast. I mean Drag Race is never really fair :lol: I am sad for Viv though, she really deserved to make the finale over Shea and Trinity, I'd also have gone for probably Jaida.
July 22, 20222 yr Author It's been hard restraining myself from mentioning this all season! I knew going in that Shea made the top 4 but I wasn't sure how. I think this is maybe the worst way of doing it for storyline and fairness seeming purposes... which is unfortunate given that people already feel that AS5 was rigged in her favour. It's super weird that 'give a star to someone else' only appeared for that one episode and was never explained away too eh?
July 22, 20222 yr Reddit and Twitter are giving Shea and Monet so much hate, why are the fans so thick? :lol: Like.... I must have missed the part where they chose the format and this twist?! Monet is actually my winner and in a lipsync for the crown... How is Jinkx going to beat any of them bar maybe Trinity if it's not in Trinity's ballpark (like Kings and Queens). I know Shea has beat Monet twice now, but I think Monet at her absolute best with the drive to win, I think she will do it in a lipsync tournament.
July 22, 20222 yr I don't agree with giving the cast direct hate but the bullshit riggamorria I do understand tbh. It's why I hate the All Stars format, in nearly every series people have been robbed because of the rules/judgings or bullshit twists. It makes me not enjoy the show and I don't even see it as entertaining really.

It’s what ruined big brother in the final years for me too :lol: Like it wouldn’t have made anyone more interested having this extra twist or not.
July 22, 20222 yr The Vivienne I feel most sorry for, if there were no twists then it would have ended: 5 - Jinkx 4 - Trinity 3 - The Vivienne / Monet 2 - Jaida / Raja / Shea 1 - Yvie With no need for a tiebreak.
July 22, 20222 yr I know I shouldn’t take this show too seriously but I just cried so much at Jaida getting that top 4 position snatched away from her in that way. Why couldn’t they have lip synced for the final spot instead of giving to Monet? That felt like such a nasty way of doing it in a series that has been filled with “feel good”. Monet and Shea absolutely won the episode though so I didn’t feel like anything was rigged for them. And I think Monet feels deserving of her spot but there’s something bittersweet feeling about Shea jumping in at the last minute from last place.
July 22, 20222 yr Is it just me or was that like the most boring talent show ever for an all stars series? :lol: 5 people dance/lip sync to a track, 2 singers and 1 dancer. I know it's somewhat the same on most All Stars talent shows, but there's usually at least a couple queens doing something a bit different. Granted Raja did do a traditional dance and monet did opera - but they are still singing/dancing. My favourite moment from the talent show was Yvie's enterance. :lol: It's a shame her performance/song wasn't a bit stronger as I would've put her in the top 2 for that alone almost. It was nice to see Monet showcase her opera talent though and agree that she should've been top 2 for it. I didn't agree with Shea in the top 2 though. Not to say she didn't kill it but I actually really like Jaida's rap more - she actually surprised me with how good she was! I thought all the queens did really well though. Not one bad performance. In regards to the twist... no comment? It kinda ruined the season for me a bit. What's the point of all the blocking/game playing/stars if you're offering 3 stars for the final. Technically someone on 0 stars could've gotten 3 and been in the final. It's honestly made me so sad as I was really hoping either Jaida or The Vivienne or both would make it into the top 4. They've been my two favourites this season. The Vivienne in particular having 4 wins and 3 stars should be in the top 4 over Shea with 2 wins and 4 stars. :( Out of the top 4 I'm rooting for Jinkx 100%. I hope she really surprises us in the lip syncs - although I have no clue how she's going to win a lip sync vs Shea or Monet unless the song is completely suited to Jiinkx. Going to be a tough battle for her!

Yeah I agree with that, or at least break the tie with Trinity having more wins. That was basically a queen getting to eliminate someone which this season has been all about not doing.
July 22, 20222 yr I don't think there's any riggamorris here. Jinkx made it to the Finale based on her wins alone (and after being blocked twice even) and Trinity also (even if it came down to a tie-breaker). Jaida was given a star on Episode 5 so really she had two stars won under her belt. But regardless of all of this, the purpose of the season was to showcase all winners doing what they do best and it's done just that. This last episode is not to be taken that seriously, just look at the "Queen of She Had Already Had Hers" crown, it means nothing but someone will still win that. I think the real winner of this season is the viewers, we got to see these fabulous 8 winners again doing what they do best and some of them in a better light. It's not personal, it's drag.
