I think it's his worst song. Shame the far superior Anyone For You didn't get this chart run instead

It's going to be his second longest running Top 10 hit in a couple of weeks. Whether that bodes well for George's longer term prospects is another matter, as there don't appear to be any obvious follow-up hits from the album.

Still on the nursery rhyme theme, the intro to Atomic by Blondie sounds like Three Blind Mice.

I agree 'Anyone For You' is far superior, but I think Cassy-o-o-o-o-o-o was way worse :puke2:

'Green Green Grass' is leagues below all of his other hits for me, I've generally been a fan of him before but this song was awful from first listen for me and I've only liked it even less over time.
"Listen To The Man" was a brilliant song of his. Shame it stalled at #41 thanks to the Xmas rush

I think Eliza is picking up enough pace for us to hopefully avoid George getting a #1 with GGG by default.

Bit late spotting this, but anyone know a reason why Summer of 69 and Fleetwood Mac’s Everywhere have climbed back in the top 100? Figure it could well just be due to a low sales climate, but they aren’t the normal songs creeping back in.

Those type of songs always seem to do well in very hot weather, when many people with little interest in new music have barbecues, etc. I'm sure both of those have been in the Monday mids recently before, but neither has actually remained in the chart on the Friday. Summer Of '69 may just about hang on this time, but it's more likely Colpday's Yellow will - for either of those it would be a first Top 100 appearance since 2014.
Surprised Yellow never re-entered, was a tiktok hit quite recently and was top 200 even top 100 for ages
Everywhere is #92 of 2022 so far so a very consistent streamer - one of those where ACR does just enough to stop it charting every week.
I stand corrected on that song then! That dancing pony ad really did wonders for that song’s legacy.
