October 30, 20222 yr I loved the Bluetones single but the album was such a disappointment, a huge let down I even listened to it the other day for the first time in like 20 years and thought it was a pretty bad album The other 2 are average dance tracks from the early 90s, decent and rather good but no classics
October 30, 20222 yr Aw lost my first double-figure pointer but at least nothing from my top 10 yet. I have a real soft spot for 'The Key, The Secret'

October 30, 20222 yr Bluetones must have been pretty close to my votes, I really like it, was a late Britpop discovery but has a really blissful chorus. My first double figure points to go out there - The Key The Secret is a little basic I guess, but it's done really well. The chorus is really infectious and it has some great vocals and production.
October 30, 20222 yr Ah and there was me thinking they were an indie band lol. It's one where I know it from hearing about often but the acts name I never put two and two together with. Great song but wouldn't be in my points.

October 30, 20222 yr I assume maybe he was referring to Urban Cookie Collective? They do have an indie band kinda name now I think about it
October 30, 20222 yr Urban Cookie Collective is amazing but I still think it should be technically titled “The Key (The Secret)”
October 30, 20222 yr Thought that The Key The Secret would be in the top 50 at least, deserved better! Slight Return was close to making it into my votes too.
October 30, 20222 yr Aww Slight Return is a fab britpop single. I thought it was going to be top 50, but at least it was close.
October 30, 20222 yr Never been a huge fan of The Key: The Secret but haven’t managed to unlock why that is. :basil:
October 30, 20222 yr all 3 of those are decent, but were comfortably never in the running for any points from me...
October 30, 20222 yr I remember when Select did their best albums of 1996 feature they subtitled it 'What? No Bluetones?'.
October 30, 20222 yr Urban Cookie Collective is amazing but I still think it should be technically titled “The Key (The Secret)” I always read the colon use as her secret being the key (to another way)!

October 30, 20222 yr Too low again for Urban Cookie Collective but then I wouldn't have expected it to be ahead of the likes of Crystal Waters and CeCe Peniston so. The Alex Party song is decent too.
October 31, 20222 yr Some decent tracks there, didn’t realise that The Bluetones was that classic indie anthem before listening in the rate here, would have been a lot higher for me if I had although prob not in my top 30. The Key is a classic dance track of the era although I don’t like it as much!
October 31, 20222 yr Author NO 55- 91 POINTS Ghetto Supastar Pras Michel/ Mya/ODB (Voters: Riser- 26pts, Steve201- 11pts, West- 14pts, Torple- 10pts, Mack- 29pts, Dircadirca- 1pt) (#2 for 2 weeks in July 1998 behind “Freak Me” by Another Level and “Because We Want To” by Billie) A big summer smash that almost took “Islands In The Stream” all the way to the top.
