November 13, 20222 yr there were much better rock ballads than Wind of Change, I'd argue Bon Jovi-Always is 100 times better Brandy/Monica is just ok
November 13, 20222 yr Author NO 28- 169 PTS Go West Pet Shop Boys (Voters: Chez Wombat- 9pts, Colm- 16pts, King Rollo- 29pts, Julian T- 8pts, West- 12pts, Jason- 14pts, Narcow- 28pts, AH Gold- 24pts, Popchartfreak- 29pts) (#2 for 2 weeks in September 1993 behind “Mr Vain” by Culture Beat and “Boom Shake The Room” by DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince) Their biggest hit of the 90s and the last time they would be in the top 3. They lost out after being midweek No 1 but on Buzzjack it’s our 2nd favourite No 2 of 1993. n1VbdIuT4oA
November 13, 20222 yr Author NO 27- 183 PTS Better The Devil You Know Kylie Minogue (Voters: Fiesta- 13pts, Mark223- 24pts, Gooddelta- 20pts, West- 8pts, Bjork- 5pts, Jason- 30pts, Gezza- 30pts, Leonardo- 16pts, AH Gold- 21pts, Popchartfreak- 16pts) (#2 for 2 weeks in May 1990 behind “Killer” by Adamski) Another double 30 pointer here with both myself and Jason voting this our favourite No 2 of the decade. Kylie still has 1 left but this our 2nd favourite No 2 of 1990. iDsmxWmIbTU
November 13, 20222 yr 'Confide In Me' the highest Kylie song :o (which admittedly I ain't all that familiar with tbh). 'Better The Devil..' is great and so was 'Go West' but neither would have been near my votes. I'm looking at the list of what's to come and the only surprising one left for me now that I do know of at least is Bruce!
November 13, 20222 yr Oof those 2 hurt! Wait, what?! 28 and 27!! Shome mishtake shorely! :o :P 2 gay anthems there that still bring the house down, and I've seen them both do them many times in concert, in many different styles and/or presentations. Go West took a fairly average gay disco song and turned it into a masterful lament at AIDS losses, but with hope for the future, and Kylie's Devil was the moment she stopped being a manufactured girl-next-door pop star and took more control visually and product-wise, all growed-up. Moving from the teenage girl and more towards the gay male market over the course of the next few singles, which is always a wise career move. Teenage girls drop you like a brick when the next big thing comes along, gay men stick with you forever.
November 13, 20222 yr Yeah Confide in Me might actually be my favourite Kylie song regardless of decade and chart position
November 13, 20222 yr Confide In Me being the highest ranked Kylie song is deserved! Better The Devil You Know is great too though. I have to admit i'm not that fussed about Go West.
November 13, 20222 yr Confide In Me is great (I bought it) but even from that period I'd take Put Yourself In My Place over it (topped my chart, and what a video). Obv not a candidate here, sadly.....
November 13, 20222 yr Both Kylie songs are brilliant, I do slightly prefer Better The Devil You Know but it's done really well either way. Go West is not a PSB fave of mine!
November 13, 20222 yr I loved Go West at the time but it’s not one of their best in retrospect. Can You Forgive Her is by far the better single from Very.
November 13, 20222 yr NO 27- 183 PTS Better The Devil You Know Kylie Minogue (Voters: Fiesta- 13pts, Mark223- 24pts, Gooddelta- 20pts, West- 8pts, Bjork- 5pts, Jason- 30pts, Gezza- 30pts, Leonardo- 16pts, AH Gold- 21pts, Popchartfreak- 16pts) Another double 30 pointer here with both myself and Jason voting this our favourite No 2 of the decade. Kylie still has 1 left but this our 2nd favourite No 2 of 1990. If I'm not mistaken me and Gezza also had the same favourite number 1 of the 90s. :o  Better The Devil You Know is a pop classic really. It should have been number 1. I think #27 is not that bad for it here, I was expecting lower than that tbh. :D

November 13, 20222 yr Sad to see my 29 point song, Go West, going out before the top 20. I do like the male choir on it and, of course, it's still sung by Arsenal fans every time they go 1-0 up.
November 13, 20222 yr Go West is one of my favorites from PSBs actually, a great cover with dramatic flair, thought it may do a bit better here given how well they usually do in these polls x this is way better than What Have I Done to Deserve This x
November 13, 20222 yr PSB's cover of Always on my Mind in 87 was genius and one of the best covers in the history of music sadly, Go West was not. Better the Devil and Confide in Me and the 2 best Kylie solo singles of the 90s hands down although her very best was her collab with Nick Cave, Where the wild roses grow

November 14, 20222 yr No sadly, I went for "Vogue" :D Sorry, I was trying to say we both gave 30 points for 'What Have I Done To Deserve This' (number 2 of the 80s) ;)
