OMG Chez, you did not just declare Go West as being better than WHIDTDT?!!! You obviously haven’t listened to the latter enough

Seeing as you were all talking about it anyway...

And just like that Kylie is gone from the rate after back to back eliminations. This was her debut post SAW single in 1994 and gave her a third No 2 of the decade, it terms of the rate it is Buzzjack’s favourite and also the 3rd Favourite of 1994.

And this is our 3rd favourite No 2 of 1999- was unfortunate to go up against Britney’s debut but they at least have 1 entry left in the rate.

Confide In Me is such a captivating track, glad it's done so well here.

I really like Tender too, a late Britpop gem, very soulful, felt big enough to have been a No.1 really but if you will release when Britney is dominating with a legendary debut single...(see also: Runaway).

Both of those are fantastic, Tender is so epic in its gradual build and choir coming in, and Confide in Me was a big turning point for Kylie from the SAW fluff she put out earlier, it's like a Bond theme <3

(I said what I said re: PSBs x )

I agree that the stunning 'Confide In Me' was a real turning point for Kylie quality-wise. It's her most essential 90s song for me although I am another who is fond of 'Where The Wild Roses Grow' too

Blur dropping out on the day of their Wembley announcement, that timing!

Confide in Me just builds.

I never liked Tender.

Tender is just genius and Blur proving its late as 1999 they were still putting out classic tracks unlike their other britpop heavyweights. My second fav No2 of the 90s!

Always sad to see ‘Go West’ being PSBs final top 3 track!

When I did my top 10 of 1999 at the end of the year, Tender was my #1 - so ahead of a few songs I've voted for in this rate. What happened? Being a long song didn't help, especially in the download era when my iPod space was at a premium, but I just lost interest in it slightly, not sure why - maybe I got too used to them being a bit more caustic, like in their other song that's still to come
I know it's critically lauded and worthy, but I find Tender to be really quite DREARY

Tender is fantastic. I absolutely love Blur when they're like that and the length only adds to it - This Is a Low, To The End, The Universal all easily join it in my top 10 of theirs

Their bigger songs on the other hand... Song 2 is certainly the better of them, but I can't remember if I voted for it, and it wouldn't surprise me if not.

Well Ive said many times before that Blur's greatest is To The End. Drop. Dead. Gorgeous. One of the greatest records of the decade. Still makes me cry if Im singing along to it.

Unusually for the 90s this is a song that dropped from No 2 then went back up! Anyway a fine bit of Scandinavian pop pre Cheiron. 2nd Favourite No 2 of 1994.

Another re-issue here which in the wake of Madchester struck it big and was a hit here with 14 voters.

Another of my top ten drop out to leave me with just three left!

I far prefer The Sign to All That She Wants. Ace of Base were the only band that me and my siblings ever all bought singles by, we all had such vastly different music tastes usually but my sister bought All That She Wants, my brother bought The Sign, I bought Always Have, Always Will (the first single I ever bought for myself in fact, although I marginally prefer Life Is A Flower to that these days), and my other sister bought Cruel Summer. So definitely a band that catered to many tastes.

Sit Down is a classic of course, but wasn't near my votes.

Two goodies there, although I love ‘The Sign’ i did think ‘Sit Down’ might he a top 10 contender here.
