I really do think Taylor will get it with all the formats & signed variants etc. Plus her UK store has been up and down most of the past 24 hours due to 'a large number of requests' since the tour pre sale codes were announced.

Taylor - I know fans that would be happy to purchase all colour variations just to put them on their shelf plus her last UK tour was 5 years ago that surely will be enough for even more casual fans to purchase her album for tour tickets.

no clue about AM, but Taylor leaked for sure, hopefully it doesn't damage her first day streams, think it's a pity

Really hope for the Arctic’s but I think Taylor will get it - they have released so many variants with different signed art cards with each one that I think it’ll give her the edge.

 

Either way it should be an exciting week - both have a history of being strong physical sellers and performing well on streaming.

Taylor is heading for a massive campaign indeed with two videos coming out - Anti-hero on friday and the second video on Wednesday.

 

I think Arctic Monkeys will do it

I did vote Arctic Monkeys at the time but I’m now confident that Taylor Swift will win this battle.

Midnights is number 1 is on iTunes in 66 countire and number 1 on Apple Music in 53 countries before you look at the other individual songs. Wow that is a total slay from Slayler Swift.

I would be interested to know how they would do if all physical purchases were limited to only one counting per person - I am sure there will be some multibuying in the AM camp too but they're not quite as audaciously ultra capitalistic as Taylor is being. Not sure if it would even be possible to isolate that data though. (And AM might still lose tbf, not like they're going for a particularly wide appealing sound again - they'd probably have done better with Taylor's strategy of not releasing anything before the album :lol:)

 

Really will be a shame for AM to lose such a long unbroken streak of #1s but I guess they'd have moved the release date if they cared x

I mean fair play for playing the game with a gazillion 'versions' and formats. Can't hate on her for doing what anyone with obsessed stans needs to do if they really want to inflate their sales.

 

It's disappointing from a fan perspective that AM are looking to lose their streak of #1 albums but I doubt they will care that much. In fact they've expressed several times over the years that the charts aren't the be all and end all so I wouldn't expect to see a huge strategic push throughout the week.

I look forward to 'The Car' finally making it to #1 in 2047 with the 25 year anniversary deluxe re-release.
