I am quite shocked, the new Sam Smith song is bloody brilliant. They could have a big era if they play it right!

I don't think 'Unholy' will be going anywhere in a hurry, so I hope it does grow on me because so far I'm in total agreement with that "sonic assault" remark.

Not sure how well it will hold up, on Amazon for instance it started at #6, but already dropped to #7 earlier and now it's at #9

Seems to be stuck at #4 on Apple too (or maybe Apple is not updating)

'Unholy' proving to be complete marmite so far. People either loving it or hating it but there don't seem to be many in-between opinions! Can't recall the last big release to have such a polarising effect.

I don’t love or hate it tbh. I find the chorus quite hard on the ears as it’s out of Sam’s range but I like the concept of the melody itself. Maybe it will grow on me.

To me with I’m Good, Unholy and various others going viral on TikTok pre-release, this almost feels like the new ‘six weeks plug in advance of release’ that was had for so long in the 90s and 00s. Funny that even in this era songs are still able to be held back and hyped before release to maximise their potential debut!
