September 4, 20223 yr seeing as Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles managed 11 weeks at #1 with their most recent album leads I imagine Lewis Capaldi may very well end up doing the same, let's enjoy the last of the Lewis-free chart while it lasts I guess.

September 4, 20223 yr Think everyone here don’t went new Lewis Capaldi song not get number 1 6 week I don't mind too much if it's a decent song but if it just gets to #1 on name alone, that's annoying. Thankfully that doesn't happen too much these days, and the quality (I know is subjective) of the song is more important. It helps, i.e Harry Styles & Ed Sheeran but not a given - the only recent ones I can think of by getting to #1 by name (almost) alone is Ed's Merry Christmas and maybe Billie's No Time To Die.

September 4, 20223 yr Toosie Slide was a name powered only #1. I’d almost rather it was bad and a name only #1 because then it can burn out quickly. Wheras if it’s mediocre and it stays at #1 for 10 weeks that’s gonna be more of an annoyance long term.

Wheras if it’s mediocre and it stays at #1 for 10 weeks that’s gonna be more of an annoyance long term. this sums up how i feel exactly, especially the 2nd part with As It Was, i feel like if it was sung by any of the other 1d boys it definitiely wouldn't have been a 10 week #1 so harry's name power really powered it to getting to #1. luckily, from the snippet lewis capaldi's new song sounds like an uptempo bop rather than a someone you loved pt 2 so hopefully it'll be decent

I think name power's only really a thing in week 1, so I don't think Toosie Slide can really be called a name-powered only #1 when it peaked in week 5. A fluke #1, definitely, considering it wasn't the "true" #1 that week. Obviously name power helps big artists to debut high but songs stick around because the songs click, they drop away quickly otherwise (Ed's The Joker and the Queen is a recent example)

I still think it only got to #1 because it was a 'new Drake song', I don't think i've heard it once since 2020. Lol i'd already forgotten Joker & The Queen even existed thankfully.

I also don't think LadBaby will be releasing this year as they have split up unless he does it himself but I doubt it. Which should make it more exciting (or Wham/Mariah will just get the #1)

So far they’ve just completely ignored it.
