September 6, 20223 yr guetta #1 on itunes, spotify and apple music :funky: Not when you combine BOTAs streams on Spotify - it’s still quite a way ahead
September 6, 20223 yr I think wether the song in question is on track to reach a new peak should be the main deciding factor anyway. So for example 505 would have been reset at least once but Another Love wouldn't on this occasion. What is the point in reseting a former top 10 hit so it can linger around the bottom half of the top 40 for a few weeks and potentially keep new music out?
September 6, 20223 yr ^ Well at that point they could re-set it. They can re-set the songs instantly.
September 6, 20223 yr Maybe there should be a rule that if a song can get a new peak with a reset, it will be reset.
September 6, 20223 yr that would make a whole lot more sense than whatever this system the occ have now is - if you can call it a system. Lost by Frank Ocean, Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood and 505 (amongst others I’ve forgot about) should have top 40 peaks but weren’t granted resets, yet Tom O’Dull who has already got a top 10 peak and spent over a year in the top 100, gets one cos his song’s got its 5th(?) tiktok related chart boost. Christmas is sure going to give us some bizarre resets too then I guess.

Or they could just allow the biggest selling purchased/consumed songs of the week to be where they should be in the charts? By having ACR and then allowing random resets it’s making a mockery of the ACR system
September 6, 20223 yr The random resets is a mockery at times, it seems to be the luck of the draw and no consistency.

Although as you say, it would probably make the December charts quite random.

By having ACR and then allowing random resets it’s making a mockery of the ACR system Can you make a mockery out of something that is already a joke? This is why comedians struggle with Liz Truss.
September 6, 20223 yr It is my understanding that the only resets the OCC automatically do is if a song is less than 3 years old and it increases by 25% against the market. Any other reset has to requested by the record label and it is supposed to be their current single or they should be able to show a current campaiagn around it. Presumably the record company of the earlier mentioned tracks did not request a reset while Ton O'Dell's company did. Edited September 6, 20223 yr by braindeadpj
September 6, 20223 yr The whole Tom O’Dell thing is odd - he split with his label and went independent, he celebrated the fact he had left a major label at his show I saw him at earlier this year. I’m guessing his old label requested the reset but Tom seems to be all for it too as he’s promoting the song on his socials again and adding links to the song.
September 6, 20223 yr Not when you combine BOTAs streams on Spotify - it’s still quite a way ahead There is an extended mix of "Good (I'm Blue)", which is getting some streams. So it's likely a bit closer than it may seem even when combining both BOTA verisons. Bebe/Guetta were filming the video the other day, so that should hopefully be out soon. Depending on how Lewis Capaldi does, I can see "Good (I'm Blue)" being a long running #1.

Needs the coin 🪙 It's his only source of income.
September 6, 20223 yr I was gona say the same, its the song that does anything for him anymore and his albums arent doing great either.
September 6, 20223 yr the good thing for him is that unlike many modern songs all written by 21 co-writers, Tom Odell wrote Another Love solo so he's getting some $ every time the song is played on the radio/being streamed, so he could retire if he wanted...
September 6, 20223 yr Not to mention he's still a popular touring artist which is where the money really is in the music industry!
September 6, 20223 yr Eeek at Two Door Cinema Club not even charting with their latest album (very limited physicals meaning it’s limited to downloads and streaming only is a choice in this day and age, though I get the idea).
