A good handful of great discoveries this week, my biggest ones being Supergrass, Suede, Levellers, R.E.M. and Blur's 'You're So Great'. Plus a few more that I think I have heard before but don't know super well which were great to revisit (Blur's 'The Universal', Pulp, Kula Shaker, Manic Street Preachers from the bonuses). Other songs played:

Tori Amos - Caught A Lite Sneeze (from #2 album Boys For Pele)

Manic Street Preachers - Everything Must Go (from #2 album Everything Must Go)

Fugees - Fu-Gee-La (from #2 album The Score)

Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity (from #2 album Travelling Without Moving) *

The Specials - Gangsters (RIP Terry Hall)

Faithless - Insomnia (RIP Maxi Jazz)

Primal Scream - Loaded (RIP Martin Duffy)

Modest Mouse - Dashboard (RIP Jeremiah Green)

LadBaby - Food Aid (new #1 single)

The Smurfs - I've Got A Little Puppy (palate cleanser / for the memes)

* was initially played as a bonus track this week before I realised it would get a play from High Times - Singles 1992-2006

+ Jade also playing Technohead - I Wanna Be A Hippy which was a remake of inspired The Smurfs' track for an iconic side by side :cheeseblock: (aside I've only just discovered The Smurfs' song actually charted and as high as #4!! haha, iconic)

Listening now to the final part + #2s cos as per usual I missed it (partner formed to listen to the prime minister new year speech)

but some great songs including Hyperballad and Caught a Lite Sneeze

Had completely forgotten Robson & Jerome had a 2nd album, for some reason I kinda remember them only having 1 :D wishful thinking I guess

Earth, Wind and Fire also for this week (RIP Fred White) - I think my personal pick would be 'Boogie Wonderland' as it's so joyous and 'September' must be one of the most played 70s songs nowadays

for today's #2s, the bestest is Lauryn Hill's debut. going for Ex-Factor as a track

also Oasis-The Masterplan

but struggling to find anything else

EDIT: + Sheryl Crow - My Favourite Mistake

Edited by Bjork

Trust me to miss one that looks like it was a good one :/ I should be around today so I’ll try to join again

Estimate of today's #2 albums for bonus suggestions as I scramble together the playlist at the last minute again :kink: (again may be an overestimate so for any of the later ones if they turn out to actually fall into next week I will roll over any nominations for them, from last week Supergrass already have one nomination)

edit: The Corrs and Backstreet Boys go into next week.

I Want You- Savage Garden

Sheryl Crow - My Favorite Mistake

Lauryn Hill - Doo Wop (That Thing)

R.E.M. - Daysleeper

and anything from The Masterplan - Rockin' Chair, Acquiesce, The Masterplan, Talk Tonight and Half The World Away are all worthwhile choices

Oasis - The Masterplan

Lauryn Hill - Ex-Factor

Lighthouse Family - High ()

(also I would prefer September if we're playing Earth Wind and Fire ngl!)

Actually yeah i'll second High by the Lighthouse Family.

For Earth, Wind & Fire i'd go with Let's Groove personally.

Portishead - Only You / All Mine / Humming

Sheryl Crow - My Favourite Mistake

Lighthouse Family - High

Lauryn Hill - Doo Wop / Ex Factor

REM - At My Most Beautiful

Supergrass - Sun Hits The Sky

Primal Scream - If They Move, Kill 'Em

The only no.2 I would like this week is 'Calling All Stations' by Genesis from the album of the same name. That's the album they did with the singer from Stiltskin.

I'm not a fan of the Pointer Sisters but I think they should be added to the RIP songs, maybe 'I'm So Excited'.

'Party Fears Two' for The Associates and 'Boogie Wonderland' for Earth Wind And Fire.

Sorry for the late start whoops!

The Corrs and Backstreet Boys' albums will fall into next week for #2 bonuses but looks like no one nominated either of them anyway.

40 albums covered this week bringing us up to April 1999, so into the current millennium next week!
