January 4, 20232 yr Listening now to the final part + #2s cos as per usual I missed it (partner formed to listen to the prime minister new year speech) but some great songs including Hyperballad and Caught a Lite Sneeze Had completely forgotten Robson & Jerome had a 2nd album, for some reason I kinda remember them only having 1 :D wishful thinking I guess
January 6, 20232 yr Earth, Wind and Fire also for this week (RIP Fred White) - I think my personal pick would be 'Boogie Wonderland' as it's so joyous and 'September' must be one of the most played 70s songs nowadays
January 8, 20232 yr for today's #2s, the bestest is Lauryn Hill's debut. going for Ex-Factor as a track also Oasis-The Masterplan but struggling to find anything else EDIT: + Sheryl Crow - My Favourite Mistake Edited January 8, 20232 yr by Bjork
January 8, 20232 yr Trust me to miss one that looks like it was a good one :/ I should be around today so I’ll try to join again
January 8, 20232 yr Author Estimate of today's #2 albums for bonus suggestions as I scramble together the playlist at the last minute again :kink: (again may be an overestimate so for any of the later ones if they turn out to actually fall into next week I will roll over any nominations for them, from last week Supergrass already have one nomination) edit: The Corrs and Backstreet Boys go into next week. 1997 Hits ‘97 Volume 1 - The Smurfs Still Waters - Bee Gees Lisa Stansfield - Lisa Stansfield 10 - Wet Wet Wet In It for the Money - Supergrass Flaming Pie - Paul McCartney Do It Yourself - The Seahorses Timeless - Sarah Brightman Destination Anywhere - Jon Bon Jovi Heavy Soul - Paul Weller Vanishing Point - Primal Scream Backstreet’s Back - Backstreet Boys Calling All Stations - Genesis Butterfly - Mariah Carey Portishead - Portishead Fresco - M People Postcards from Heaven - Lighthouse Family Greatest Hits - Eternal 1998 All Saints - All Saints When We Were the New Boys - Rod Stewart Savage Garden - Savage Garden Step One - Steps The Globe Sessions - Sheryl Crow The Best of Ladysmith Black Mambazo: The Star and the Wiseman - Ladysmith Black Mambazo The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill - Lauryn Hill Up - REM The Masterplan - Oasis The Best of M People - M People 1999 Forgiven, Not Forgotten - The Corrs Millennium - Backstreet Boys
January 8, 20232 yr Supergrass - Sun Hits The Sky Oasis - The Masterplan or Half The World Away Not exactly a vintage list this week.
January 8, 20232 yr The title track from Oasis- The Masterplan Ex Factor or Doo Wop from The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill I Want You- Savage Garden
January 8, 20232 yr Sheryl Crow - My Favorite Mistake Lauryn Hill - Doo Wop (That Thing) R.E.M. - Daysleeper and anything from The Masterplan - Rockin' Chair, Acquiesce, The Masterplan, Talk Tonight and Half The World Away are all worthwhile choices
January 8, 20232 yr Oasis - The Masterplan Lauryn Hill - Ex-Factor Lighthouse Family - High () (also I would prefer September if we're playing Earth Wind and Fire ngl!)
January 8, 20232 yr Actually yeah i'll second High by the Lighthouse Family. For Earth, Wind & Fire i'd go with Let's Groove personally.
January 8, 20232 yr Lauryn Hill - Doo Wop (That Thing) Mariah Carey - Honey Oasis - The Masterplan (or Acquiesce)
January 8, 20232 yr Portishead - Only You / All Mine / Humming Sheryl Crow - My Favourite Mistake Lighthouse Family - High Lauryn Hill - Doo Wop / Ex Factor REM - At My Most Beautiful Supergrass - Sun Hits The Sky Primal Scream - If They Move, Kill 'Em
January 8, 20232 yr The only no.2 I would like this week is 'Calling All Stations' by Genesis from the album of the same name. That's the album they did with the singer from Stiltskin. I'm not a fan of the Pointer Sisters but I think they should be added to the RIP songs, maybe 'I'm So Excited'. 'Party Fears Two' for The Associates and 'Boogie Wonderland' for Earth Wind And Fire.
January 8, 20232 yr Author https://sync-tube.de/room/yfweF2_6 ^ will be starting soon, oops cutting it fine to finish off the tracklist this week x
January 8, 20232 yr Author Sorry for the late start whoops! The Corrs and Backstreet Boys' albums will fall into next week for #2 bonuses but looks like no one nominated either of them anyway. 40 albums covered this week bringing us up to April 1999, so into the current millennium next week!
