Ooops sorry!

Last week was pretty lacking in good discoveries but the Massive Attack song was great and I also really enjoyed the Slipknot track although big 'your mileage may vary' on that. David Gray's 'The Other Side' was really nice, somewhat making up for the disappointment of 'This Year's Love' getting a play over the vastly superior 'Babylon'. Doves also pretty good. Lots of good stuff I already knew of course as ever, highlights including 'The Scientist', 'Feel', 'Star Guitar', 'Seven Nation Army', 'All My Life' and 'Can't Stop'. The RIP slots were a pretty good set of discoveries for me too, minus 'The Colour Of My Dreams' which I already knew from Club Bizarre.

Can't believe people ever leave before the end of these things x

I'd argue This Year's Love is one of the most beautiful songs ever.

it's a song about having been thru a lot of f***ed up relationships, that haven't ended up well, so you've been hurt many times

so you go into a new relationship but you have this fear that it's into gonna work and you will be hurt again

It's about the uncertainty of relationships, the fear that the same patterns will repeat again and again and you're never gonna find anyone

So it's not a song you can fully appreciate in 1 listen, and also depends if you relate to the song or not

I do and thats why the song clicks with me

maybe the song will click with you in 20 years or 30 years and then you'll release it's a great song but you need the right framework :)

#end of rambling

Yeah I do think This Year’s Love is one where you need to listen to the words and let them draw you into the music.

I bought White Ladder only knowing Babylon and thought it was fairly pants on first listen, and it became and still is one of my favourites ever.

Am sorting the playlist for this now, I think I will have it ready in time (so far queued 28 songs totalling 2 hours) so I'll post the list of #2 albums when I'm done with that.

No RIP slots this week? None mentioned in here and I can't immediately think of any to suggest. (Not that that's a bad thing!)

43 albums covered this week bringing us up to February 2005. There are a couple of songs today I'll be muting but we do finish on a high *.*

#2 albums this week:

2003

Best: Greatest Hits of S Club 7 - S Club 7

Innocent Eyes - Delta Goodrem

Dutty Rock - Sean Paul

Dance of Death - Iron Maiden

Silence Is Easy - Starsailor

Live at Knebworth - Robbie Williams

The Very Best of Sheryl Crow - Sheryl Crow

Room on Fire - The Strokes

A Present for Everyone - Busted

You Are the Quarry - Morrissey

Borrowed Heaven - The Corrs

To the 5 Boroughs - Beastie Boys

Studio 150 - Paul Weller

Greatest Hits: My Prerogative - Britney Spears

Will sort out the bonuses a bit later so will give people some time to suggest songs (y'all usually seem to be very quick with the suggestions anyway!) - on first glance I don't think this looks like a particularly compelling list :kink:

Air - Cherry Blossom Girl (I think this is the only song I know from this era, up for anything from them really)

Sean Paul - Get Busy

The Strokes - Reptilia

Just popping in to say unfortunately i’m missing the session today due to work.

I’ll be with you in spirit.

Sheryl Crow - The first cut is the deepest

Air - Cherry blossomed girl

Not many #2 albums to choose from but I'll go for these picks:

Morrissey - First of the Gang to Die (not heard this for ages but liked it at the time)

Air - Cherry Blossom Girl or Alpha Beta Gaga

The Strokes - 12:51

An early great discovery from Radiohead again this week, that remained by far the best discovery for me but also enjoyed the Faithless, Norah Jones and The Libertines songs. Faves from the ones I already knew were 'Mr. Brightside', 'Galvanize', 'Somewhere Only We Know', 'Spitfire' (nice that this went down generally well even with people who didn't know it!), 'American Idiot', 'Left Outside Alone', 'Hysteria', 'Sweet Child O' Mine' and 'Man On The Moon', lots of other pretty good ones too, I did know most of the songs this week already.

Lol at the Il Divo cover of Toni Braxton :cheeseblock: and a weird one this week from Red Hot Chili Peppers with a live album that's not on either Spotify or iTunes and doesn't seem to have all of its tracks uploaded even on YouTube.

Unfortunately these sessions will end now as we’re all going to be banned for failing to appreciate the beauty of Chez’s bonus selections :(
