Yeah, I don’t actually think she’s necessarily any less popular now than before-obviously you can’t maintain a peak forever though she had a long run-but the way the charts work now, it’s more difficult for legacy artists to peak high. Charts have always been skewed towards young people but it’s even more evident with streaming.

Perhaps it could climb into the top 40? :( I really like this and was hoping it would hold on. "What About Us?" and "Walk Me Home" both did really well, so was hoping this would be the same. Granted it's possible it may pick up some decent playlist support in the coming weeks and climb to a new peak.
I mean it could at a small stretch become a top 40 hit in January but alas not too sure. Depends on if any streaming/apple playlists are willing to support this or not. Also every now and then legacy acts can grab a hit look at Britney, tagged onto Elton who seems to be magically relevant with certain artists to sneak hits going into his 70's. I wouldn't rule Pink out never getting a hit again.

I wouldn't necessarily count her out. If she got onto a soundtrack or something like that she could still have a big hit.

But the style of pop she puts out as singles isn't necessarily 'in' right now with the majority of chart buyers.

I could also see her doing the Superbowl before she's 50 which would certainly give her career a kick in the pants

Didn't she just go top ten last year in the UK? I think the general mediocrity of the song is the problem as the very low chart positions in Australia and Ireland show (and Aus has been her biggest market). UK seems to be on the better side there.
So it debuted at #64 in Australia. I agree it’s not her best but I think it’s still deserving of top 50.

Her top 10 last year was a feature on Rag N Bone Man’s song and only peaked in the top 10 following a Brits performance. He was also struggling to chart high despite some great songs in that era. And Walk Me Home was almost 4 years ago now. I expect she may snag low top 40 hits in the vein of One Too Many and All I Know So Far but wouldn’t expect anymore than that. As Jupiter says, her style just isn’t very in and couple that with the fact that she’s never been a streaming sensation and she’s lost support from the likes of Radio 1, she’s pretty much just good for charting outside the top 40.

As for Britney, yes she’s managed a top 10 hit off the back of a lot of publicity and it being a duet with Elton John similar to his massive hit from last year, but the jury is still out as to whether she can carry on getting hits like that or revert to being pretty much in Pink’s position.

She was number 2 on the UK single sales chart. Streaming being included in the charts has ruined everything. I still don’t feel that streams are counted in the way that they should be in the charts

Cover Me in Sunshine (which is a lovely song!) has 329 million streams on Spotify and it was released just last year. She has 26 million monthly listeners. The interest IS there with a good and relatable track.

Lady Gaga's jazz albums do nothing on Spotify but then she had a #1 single two years ago and reached #24 with a soundtrack song earlier this year.

Rihanna's soundtrack singles are tumbling down the charts as we speak, but you cannot say that people are not interested in Rihanna! They just don't care about these particular tracks that much.

It's all about the material and the context.

Sales are so small now though, you can’t have a charted based on about 500 downloads.

And yet Cover Me In Sunshine never even made the top 50 so that argument doesn’t really work. It charted very consistently for a long while but it couldn’t crack the top 40 which just backs up my point.

And I never claimed people weren’t interested in Pink, just that those who are appear to still prefer buying their music rather than streaming it.

In the UK perhaps but it reached #6 in Australia, #7 in Germany and #4 in Norway among others.

To be fair, I’ve only really been looking at the UK.

But I still don’t think this is a bad song, I think it just reflects where Pink is in her life right now and it doesn’t really appeal to a general streaming audience.

Pink is in that time of her career now where she won't have hits unless it's a one off tik tok sensation it's just how it goes these days. This is far from one of her best singles so top 50 isn't bad considering irrelevant missed the top 100.
Her last few singles have spent time hovering around the 40-75 area before going ACR (except Irrelevant) so I imagine this may do the same.

I like this a lot! It's a nice joyful upbeat number. It kinda became a holiday staple for me and the friends I was staying with.

I wouldn't count it out just yet.
