Love that a 2024 Kylie release has achieved that - in the streaming era I never thought we’d see that in the UK or US.

It was definitely something I'll never forget/never quite believe was actually real!

The cheapest it’ll be is £10 with £4.50 delivery - but the price doesn’t matter they will sell out (The only vinyl single that never sold out is EFY but all the others did in 1-2 days).

If BMG is aiming for high chart positions, they need to make this merch cheaper. If PP can stay in the top 10 longer, garner more positive press than it's already doing now, that'll mean big gains for when the album releases.

Fingers crossed! 7" with Extended Mix as its B Side would be kind of predictable but of course I'd be here for it. 12" would be highly surprising.

Maybe one spot is a physical and the other will be some kind of download

Padam Padam will end up moving into the UK Top 5 after the release of whatever these 2 surprise formats are, leaving Taylor and Peggy in the dust :drink:

Now im here for this, i think to achieve its highest peak the remixes and vinyl need to be counted in the same week, combined top 5 just might be possible, unless they are going for top 10 longevity and split this vinyl and remixes to help padam padam over different weeks.

I don’t disagree but BMG do not do the whole price cut thing - they are very much for profit.

Kylie’s singles released on 7” vinyl from ‘Disco’ were all £10 each and shifted 3k to UK fans, the £3.99 CD and £2.99 cassette for PP proved again to BMG that fans will pay full price for physicals when everyone else is selling them for 99p.

I’d be shocked if the vinyl was less than £10 and I’d equally be shocked if it doesn’t sell out at that price very quickly.

I think BMG have the option to do it different with padam padam as its an actual hit and will make money for them, before the singles were far less successful so they needed to make money where they could, they need to be more clever with padam padam and make the physicals cheaper as they could sell way more than usual.

Totally agree.

But Disco was a diff beast than PP. Disco turned out to be a fan affair - songs didn't crack the top 30, etc. But PP is the 2nd coming of CGYOOMH in terms of public appeal - so they may want to consider a change in strategy: incentivise the casual buyer as well (ex: someone who loves collecting vinyl and happens to like PP but isn't a hardcore K fan who'll pay 10 quid)

I do wonder do casual fans really go for physical releases, i say that in that i genuinely dont know, i like collecting singles myself and will buy them if its a song i like but with an act such as Kylie i wonder would it appeal to many non fans, i would hope the answer is yes and that even it could pick up novelty sales from casuals.

Thanks for this hun

Sales: 8,149

Sales down 22% WoW

Yesterday's sales: 4,554 (9th best seller of yesterday)

CD: 27

Digital: 1,067

Streaming: 6,985

Aud Streams: 672,059

Vid Streams: 72,980

So yesterdays say were 4554 for Sunday?

So Friday and Sat managed just under 3600 across both days?

Is it normal for Sunday to be a much bigger sales day? I would have imagined Friday or Sat would be bigger than 3600 ish huns?

What do people think? Could someone who knows let me know if thats normal?

Also, if it isnt normal, could it mean some sales data is missing from Fri Sat for Kylie and other acts? If that was the case, we could see Kylie lower?

Thanks for your help and insight huns

If they were to sell at a lower price they would have to increase the amount of product. I think they should sell at full price and just produce more as they sell out anyway at £10 a pop huns. I am not sure how many casual fans would pick up a Kylie Physical??

Carol honey darling, ideally I'd have said slim to none. But again, worth risking it with PP as it's crossed over to the casual listener. And collecting vinyl is a "thing" again. So, I'd say many casual fans may not pick up a Kylie physical, but the probability of them picking up a PP physical is higher than her last 3 albums' physicals.

Hi my sweet hun

Yes I agree, the probability is a million percent higher, I agree. And we all know 1 physical counts as something like 150 premium streams.

Also, I am not sure what the mark up is of vinyls these days. I guess we will see what they decide to do soon enough hun

Saying that, they could have made the CD or tape cheaper but they didnt.

Exciting times coming I guess my huns.

Just looking back to see what times these Padam Padam items were added to the store. Wanted to see if there was a pattern so we know roughly what time to be checking. I don't want to miss out on a vinyl if that's what's coming! :drama:

Extended mix :w00t:

CD :w00t: Snatched mine so fast!

She just released an extended video version of Padam on her website available to download!

No one saw this coming 😂😂😂

... well, not too helpful! Two morning, two evening.

I'll be refreshing the store first thing in the morning... :yahoo:

Does this thread have the likelihood of hitting 200 pages by next weekend?! I say yes!

I think i would prefer a CD remix and more of them. Sell at 2.99 and go for it, plus if they sell out they can make more quickly pre-order. Plus she could do signed CDs at say an appearance at GAY with Saturday....

They can always oo a vinyl later on as a gimmick that can make some cash but is not needed to be used for chart positions etc and on a smaller scale. (thats if it wouldnt be chart eligible if already 3 formats out, not convinced about this still..... )

Stormy overtakes her on Apple Music.

Down to 5th on Itunes but only Lewis and Stephen Sanchez ahead with 2 songs each.

i would rather nothing extra now until Friday and a new chart week.

By the way watch out for all those download versions from Nicki Minaj and Barbie Girl coming. She has 9 versions in US Itunes top 20. This is another tactic BMG could use for Padam Padam on a big impact week and just go for it

So much fun expecting the unexpected. Where is, whats the next news, whats she releasing?

Hi Just Carol Honey, the latest one day figure will effectively include 1 day’s worth of everything: streaming, downloads and physicals - but not all from the same day, for example, it will be the Saturday’s Spotify figures, but the Sunday’s downloads.

The figure from Friday/Saturday will include two days of downloads, but only one day from most streaming platforms.

So, yes, this is to be expected. The Sunday figure will always be more than half of Friday/Saturday as a result. I hope that makes sense.

2nd version climbing slowly back up itunes

5 & 69 & 126

Glastonbury effect for most songs will slowly reduce except for Stephen sanchez and Lewis and a few Elton tracks

Were the EFY cassette and vinyl initially both £10? The cassette is so overpriced, guess the ‘art card’ added value. I’ve not opened the sealed vinyl yet. Wonder how many they have left? It sold ok didn’t it, surprised it never sold out, especially now it’s just £8 for the 2 plus delivery.

The PP vinyl might be £5 but given vinyl is generally sold at a much higher start point these days for all artists it’ll likely be £10 as people are used to paying more for such a niche fan product. As can be seen with the leftover Infinite Disco, Extended Disco and GLE, despite huge price drops, casual fans don’t buy them.

Yes, the EFY vinyl and cassette bundle was £18 I think originally :drama: I bought another set when they reduced it - I saw so many fans complain that it was a replica of the original so they didn’t want it! I thought it was a nice re-release to coincide with the then end of Neighbours.

You have to search for it on the website so it’s not in your face that it’s a bargain unless you go looking for it so I guess that’s why even the price cut hasn’t helped it sell out.

And I agree with price cuts - niche products are something you want or don’t regardless of price, the market has become so accustomed to 99p signed CD singles and free delivery that anything else doesn’t compare.
