Such impressive numbers. #1 on the Spotify global chart with the biggest 4th day streams for a song in the chart’s history: 11.6 million streams.

UK Spotify #1 with 722,181 streams! SO stable here considering it's a pop Taylor song! :cheeseblock:

Oh good! I haven’t even checked radio. How well?

unfortunately, she has had to change the video on youtube too

I shared my full thoughts on the situation on my music instagram page, but simply, its dissapointing that some selfish people belittled her feelings so much that she felt the need to change it

Ah that pisses me off tbh

Edit: love what you wrote

Saddening :( Should've put her foot down, stood by her decision to include it and told 'em to fuck off.

It's "Hey kids, spelling is fun!" all over again.

Looking forward to seeing the ultimate sales for this today and hopefully she can manage a 2nd next week too as I'd rather AH over 'Unholy' back there.

The fatphobia saga is disgusting and the individuals attacking her should be ashamed of themselves! Imagine feeling brave enough to open up about your struggles with weight and a bunch of terminally online teenagers decide you're being fatphobic, because of COURSE only "actually" fat people can have weight issues/body dysmorphia. That's a really really damaging way to view things because it minimises the conversation around issues that society still likes to turn a blind eye to.

Side by side comparison of the change:

The original scene, as a commentary on her own personal experience with body dysmorphia - I think it worked effectively and I'm sure so many people understood the intention. For it to be seen as fatphobic puzzles me, that's such a misunderstanding. For Taylor to seemingly be bullied into editing the video, even though it was a completely valid expression of the insecurities she has had about herself (that were placed onto her by the media)... I find that uncomfortable. I hope she doesn't take it to heart.

I do think the replacement footage for that scene still works to convey the message, even if it's not as overt, but I think it's a shame she/her team felt it had to be edited.

On a separate note I really love Anti-Hero, song and video, I'm obsessed! She's been well overdue another #1 in the UK and this is such a great song to achieve it.

I hadn’t seen the edited video. It definitely still conveys the message Taylor was trying to convey. I’m glad of that.

I agree with all the things have been said and hope it doesn’t affect her in any way. It’s a shame - like others have shared - that some people felt the need to make it about themselves. What a narcissist world we live in.

The thing is, unfortunately it's a lot of women (non-teenagers) who have come for her for this, at least from what I've seen on Tik Tok (luckily it's people stitching those videos and then they're interrupting saying how wrong they are for coming for Taylor or whatever). I've seen a few people on social media compare it to Lizzo's recent situation with a word and how she changed that etc.. and I'm like... that's literally not the same thing? It's a sad situation.

On the contrary, that edited scene actually works just as well, thankfully. But it's still frustrating.
