#10 – 50 – Paloma Faith  – New York

21-31-{15}-20-19-21-33-48-61-65R(8)-63-44R(29)-46-61-73-59R(6)->16

Paloma Faith had her breakthrough in 2009 giving her two top 20 hits, the first of these Stone Cold Sober got 18 points however its follow up was bigger and starts off this top 10. Paloma would go on to have five top 10 hits including a #1.

#09 – 55 – Freemasons & Sophie Ellis Bextor – Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)

15-{13}-21-24-31-32-35-39-54-71->10

The final hit single for Freemasons but a great one here - they had six hits but only one top 10. It was the final top 20 hit of Sophie Ellis Bextor with two minor top 40 hits to follow.

#08 – 58 – Pink – Please Don't Leave Me

56-31-28-23-13-{12}-12-17-23-27-30-36-42-62-75R(2)-52R(2)-62->17

Following two top 10 hits in So What and Sober this couldn't quite make it as a post album single though had some rather good longevity.

#07 – 60 – Deadmau5 feat Rob Swire – Ghosts N Stuff

64-63-58-{12}-17-36-57->7

Following his breakthrough to the mainstream with 'I Remember' the mouse managed one further hit with this - whilst still very popular with EDM fans his chart success ended afterwards. It featured Rob Swire of Pendulum - they'd reunite ten years later for another collab. It's a song that has certainly aged very well anyhow, as one of the first EDM era bangers.

#06 – 60 – Jordin Sparks – Battlefield

21-{11}-14-20-11-15-11-12-19-25-28-35-39-55-71->15

Jordin Sparks was somewhat popular for a short time at the end of the 00s having a #3 hit in 2008 then three top 20 hits in 2009 before quickly falling off the chart radar for good. Of the three this was the most popular in the rundown and biggest having peaked at #11 three times.

'Battlefield' is by far and away Jordin's best track. Such a huge anthemic pop song. I do like others of hers too but nothing beats that. Was gutted it stalled at 11 only to fall down and then climb back up to 11 again :lol:

#05 – 72 – Florence & The Machine  – Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)

{12}-18-19-16-18-16-18-28-36-47-48-54-53-60-75-60R(14)-71->17

Florence broke the mainstream in 2009 with this as her first hit single, she'd eventually have two #1s.

'Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)' and 'Ghosts N Stuff' are both gems from those announced in the top 10 so far! The latter is an essential on my Halloween playlist :lol:

#04 – 79 – Deadmau5 & Kaskade – I Remember

64-39-26-19-{14}-20-22-19-29-33-61-75-67R(3)-71-75->15

The first hit for Deadmau5 proves to be the more popular of the two here by a slim margin. A rare progressive trance track to make the chart yet one that has gone down as a dance classic. Deadmau5 & Kaskade have recently reunited to form collaborative project Kx5.

#03 – 113 – Empire Of The Sun – We Are The People

52-37-26-{14}-16-19-26-45-55-56-51-57-63-69-66->15

A big jump in points now as the top 3 were overwhelmingly more popular than the rest. Starting off with Australian duo Empire Of The Sun who managed to get one hit on the other side of the world - Walking On A Dream sadly couldn't have also been a proper hit but this one's almost as great. One half of them as part of Pnau did recently help Elton John bag a #1 hit though.

The bottom half of this top 10 is the definition of meh, but love the top half. I'm assuming my top 2 are the top 2. Hoping for a Noisettes win but think more likely MGMT.
