I’m certain Stormzy’s steaming numbers will be huge but 14,895 seems low?

They weren't huge. On its second day of streams yesterday there were only four songs in the Spotify Top 200.

Actually can see a scenario now where casual Cliff CD sales are enough to outpace Stormzy's underwhelming streaming and Cliff ends up #1 *_* That's not that big of a gap at all. (As for Stormzy's sales drop from the last era, as I posted in the Spotify thread, it is a surprisingly big drop but also kind of makes sense considering it's not the musical style his fanbase is interested in for the most part, so it's kind of analogous to Drake's 'Honestly, Nevermind' in a way).

Do you mean officially or in reality as it hasn't reached number 1 in reality yet - it was outsold by both Wham and Mariah last year each week it was 'officially' at no.1?

Look I understand that you would prefer the chart to have different rules but I really don't see the point of disingenuous posts like this. The official chart with its current rules is 'reality' whether you like it or not, that's obviously going to be what people are talking about unless they specifically say otherwise.

Fireable about to outpeak Hide & Seek is quite surprising considering Hide & Seek is the main single !

It's being propped up by Amazon exclusive orchestral version being pushed on their Christmas playlists. It'll probably drop over the week as it did last week (although tbf it has actually overtaken 'Hide & Seek' since the First Look chart so who knows) and will likely fall off a cliff at least relative to non Christmas songs in January.

Just spotted 'Kingdom Of Rust' by Doves at #56 in the album midweeks - Lady Gaga's 'The Fame' which beat it to #1 by like 4 sales in its release week is currently not top 100 but it was #90 last week so presumably coming to overtake it by the end of the week once again 13 and a half years on :cheeseblock:
Even more incredible stat is that there isn't one person in UK who will admit to owning a Cliff Richard album... :D

Ngl, I bought the car for my mum…

Reality is what it sells period (see no need to fake it or put it in quotes to get it to fit the official line). Officially is what it sells after chart manipulation. The official chart is therefore not reality in any way, shape, or form, as it is chart manipulation (of course chart manipulation may have started from 1952 to some extent but its certainly more rampant since 2017). The official chart will of course be what the record books show, as we all know that history is (re)written by the 'winners'. That still doesn't make it the reality of the situation. As much as I dislike Mariah Carey it will be reality that AIWFCIY will probably get a 7th week at no.1 this week, even if she doesn't officially.

then why follow the charts? do crochet or collect stamps :)
How old do I feel when members are buying an Arctic Monkeys album for their mum :drama:

Oh god, that was an epic typo !! It was meant to say: ngl, I bought the Cliff album for my mum!

Hope that makes you feel less old! Lol

None of this is relevant to you feigning questioning Sour Candy's post to make this point when you know what he meant.

I thought Cliff might be ahead of Stormzy on physical sales but even without streaming Stormzy is well ahead.
Sia's 'Snowman' at 68 already  hopefully it can repeak this year, it would just need to beat its #35 peak from last year.
Watch out Stormzy, Cliff Richard has promoted his album on Amazon and he’s on This Morning today so all his fans will be ordering his album. I listened to some of it (no I’m not 80yo) :funky:

79 and still going strong ;) good to see

not even 15K for Stormzy is pretty low

I thought he had more of a fanbase than let's say Dermot Kennedy!

Stormzy hasn’t got 10 different vinyls like Dermot Kennedy.

Wonder if Taylor’s album can beat them all this week?

Taylor looks set to dip below 20k this week, Stormzy and Cliff would have to sell rather poorly the rest of the week for that to happen

Cliff now no. 1 on Amazon Best Sellers chart. (and no. 3 on iTunes).
