Out Of Nowhere is and has been doing incredibly good numbers. So happy for Bugzy and TeeDee. I would be happy with any of Raye, Bugzy/TeeDee or Central Cee getting number 1 post Christmas, but sonically, Out Of Nowhere is my favourite out of those three particular records.

Was surprised Wham! lost 60k on Spotify between Sunday and Monday but I guess the weekday effect is outweighing the nearly Christmas effect at the moment. Interested to see if they’ve gone back up today.
i think wham will be #1 next week even if they miss cos of ladbaby this week! unless theres some sneaky amazon tricks like with ellie goulding...

Wham! did 710k yesterday compared to 628k on Tue 21 Dec 2021.

They did 676k on Monday compared to 592k on Mon 20 Dec 2021.

 

So they're consistently up by more than 10% on the same week last year on Spotify, but it seems this isn't reflected on other platforms as they're tracking towards a lower overall sales total than the 59k they did last year.

I’m clinging to the hope that there might be more missing data than usual in the mids but who knows. Today’s OCC article says “we’re forecasting further leaps based on data yet to be counted” but I don’t know if that just refers to the usual missing data.

The Christmas streaming charts really do show how playlists on different platforms massively dictate what people listen to.

 

Brenda Lee 3rd on Spotify, but only 22nd on Apple.

Would be an interesting experiment if something that has previously only charted low end top 40 was put top 3 on all the platforms main Christmas playlists, to see just how far that could propel it up the charts.
