Even if Ed doesn’t get over 10 weeks in the chart by next year, it will hit permanent ACR in 2024

So I think that's half of the top 100 being Christmas songs already and it's only the first week of December

getting ridiculous really

What an utterly boring top 5 that isn't reflective of what people are really listening to lmao
The 3 track rule needs to be implemented for Xmas songs. If they can implement it for artists because Ed clogged up the top 20 for one week, then they can do it for Xmas songs that clog up the top 40 every year for a month

Why so we can have a stagnant Christmas chart with songs that have been around for 18 weeks moving 14-15?

The Christmas charts are the most interesting of the year tbh with a much needed chart clear out, old classics and forgotten Christmas songs getting new peaks and clearing the way for the return in January of some tracks reaching new peaks.

Used to be excited seeing the Christmas overload but now I just eye roll. It's gets too repetitive now with all the same ones making the top 40 every year. Would be nice if at least a few different ones made it for once.

I do think expecting RAYE to be #1 was a tad too optimistic at the present moment. She should nab it in Jan and hopefully a few others can improve on their peaks too like Joel and Dean! Oops at Lewis down to 18 from yesterday.

The only bad thing about the 3 track rule on Xmas songs is that it will be the same ones every year. And the only good thing about Xmas songs clogging up the top 40 is if it’s helping to push staleness onto ACR and out of the top 40. But not when it’s stopping new music from being a hit

There shouldn’t be a three song rule for anything and there shouldn’t be ACR at all - honestly, put that on my gravestone haha
I’d also like seeing Xmas songs from artists such as Jona Lewie, the Waitresses and Cliff Richard which never enter the top 40 enter or re-enter at Xmas. STC was only in the chart in 1980 when it was released and the two Cliff Xmas songs were only in the top 40 in 1988 and 1990, respectively and have never re-entered

So you’re happy to see shitty rappers clog up the top 40 whenever they release an album? If it weren’t for the 3 track rule, you’d be getting DBE clogging up the top 20 whenever they release an album

Damn how has Raye fell :(

the update is very amazon heavy where escapism isnt doing as well. im pretty ceertain shell be at least top 5 on friday, possibly even top 3

Hoping for Anti-Hero/Midnights to pull of a return to #1! Also hopefully a new peak for Kelly incoming!! Top 10 this year finally please <3 (+ new peaks for Santa Can't You Hear Me and Christmas Without You this season will definitely be welcomed )

Didn't 'Stop The Calvary' make top 40 last year? Mind you I wouldn't complain at it making it again this year. Those other two are great too and a shame 'Christmas Wrapping' never gets much of a look in. The Darkness I'd add to what with rock semi doing well chart wise this year.
