I wonder how the Five song ended up in there, it didn't even come close to peaking at #5!
I must have mis-read the band name as the song's peak position when compiling the list ooooops

Amazulu - Too Good To Be Forgotten

Darius - Rushes

Nsync - I Want You Back

Placebo - You Don't Care About Us

Donna Summer - Down Deep Inside (Theme From 'The Deep')

Travis - Coming Around

This song was too good to be forgotten by Skaky1981 who gave it 9 points. The original version by The Chi-Lites got to number 10 in 1974. If you play this clip, you will see it followed another number 5 that received votes on this particular episode of TOTP. Donna Summer's single from 1977 goes out but she has another one from the following year still left.

Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith

Cheryl Cole - Parachute

Guns N' Roses - Live And Let Die

Bob Marley and The Wailers - One Love/People Get Ready

OMC - How Bizarre

Sia featuring Kendrick Lamar - The Greatest

Turin Brakes - Pain Killer (Summer Rain)

This was on my shortlist but didn't make my top 30. It was the only top 40 hit for New Zealand group OMC which stands for Otara Millionaires Club. The Bob Marley single is a medley, not a double A side. Three people voted for Cheryl Cole's Parachute but it still mustered only 10 points.

Makes sense now :D anyway I was the only one who voted for it hahaha

Bananarama - Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye

The Blow Monkeys - It Doesn't Have To Be This Way

Foo Fighters - This Is A Call

Crystal Gayle - Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue

Jamelia - See It In A Boy's Eyes

Iglu & Hartley - In This City

Wet Wet Wet - Sweet Little Mystery

From 1977, this was the first of two top 20 singles for the American country singer. Bananarama lose a second song but they have one left. It's the end of the road for Jamelia whose second number 5 goes out.

Daddy Yankee - Gasolina

Emilia - Big Big World

The Kinks - Apeman

Rooster - Staring At The Sun

Caterina Valente - The Breeze And I

Wings - With A Little Luck

I lose another song from my vote now, one of Wings' best songs. The Breeze And I is a one hit wonder from 1955. I've just had a listen to it, an interesting choice. I don't think I've heard it before.

Sad to lose my 8 and 9 pointers (Terrorvision and Darius) - but I hadn't been expecting either to have many other fans.

Also surprised only one vote for One Love - it came close to my final list.

One song out today that I'm pretty confident would have been in my top 30 and that's Iglu & Hartly, really nostalgic song for me  otherwise a bunch more I'm not familiar with but some more good tunes from Daddy Yankee (heard a clip of this being played live during ROSALÍA's concert recently lol), Bob Marley & The Wailers and OMC (the impact of the latter being mentioned in the Dead Men Talking remix of 'Fuck The Tories' :cheeseblock:) Also RIP Darius.

I hadn't heard that Placebo song before but given it a quick listen now as I've enjoyed pretty much everything I've heard from them before - not bad but not their best, has a pretty weak hook.

HA! It was only voted for me. ;) It has always been one of my faves from the first decade of this century.

I could have voted for Gasolina. It is sometimes played by my fave DJS on TikTok.

I've already lost 4 songs, Sadly I'm gonna lose more by this weekend with 13, 15, 17 and 18 points all voted only for me. It's not my fault if I have unique taste. :drama:

^Unique bad taste, yes :D

Placebo-You Don't Care About Us and Travis-Coming around are great songs

Some great losses in this sweep!

Travis - Coming Around

Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith

Cheryl Cole - Parachute

Guns N' Roses - Live And Let Die

Sia featuring Kendrick Lamar - The Greatest

Jamelia - See It In A Boy's Eyes

Emilia - Big Big World

Love all those, and I'm sad I wasn't able to give them any points so I'm glad that others did! Travis is probably my favourite of all those, back when they were at their peak and I remember it being in that run of 8 consecutive singles where each one peaked higher for them than the last :)

Yeah it's good but not their best is a pretty accurate description of that. I'm still itching for the #11s rate because a certain Placebo song will get a LOT of points from me in that rate

Only two of my votes gone so far and I expected both of them to go early. Glad that The Wealdstone Raider had a point in the end

Sun Goes Down, Candy, Parachute, Pain Killer (Summer Rain), This Is A Call, See It In A Boy's Eyes, In This City and Gasolina also all good songs in there that I didn't have room for in my vote, happy that they all got points at least even if some of them deserved better.

The Breeze And I is gorgeous - no doubt would have been a Buzzjack fave if released 60 years later

The Flying Lizards - Money

Lindisfarne - Meet Me On The Corner

Living In A Box - Living In A Box

Ocean Colour Scene - Traveller's Tune

Tiësto and Dzeko featuring Preme and Post Malone - Jackie Chan

A J Tracey and Mabel - West Ten

V - Hip To Hip / Can You Feel It?

This quirky cover of a Barrett Strong song from 1959 was the only top 40 hit for the new wave group. We also have the first hit singles for Lindisfarne and Living In A Box, both good songs. Traveller's Tune was the fifth of six consecutive top 10 hits for Ocean Colour Scene.

Akon - Belly Dancer (Bananza)

Clean Bandit featuring Sharna Bass - Extraordinary

Suede - Electricity

From 1999, this was the last of eight top 10 singles for Suede. With their two biggest fans on here not voting, it only scores 14 points. Clean Bandit and Akon both have one song left.

Ciara featuring Justin Timberlake - Love Sex Magic

Iron Maiden - The Trooper (Live)

Etta James – I Just Want To Make Love to You

Liberty X - Holding On For You

Kevin Rudolf featuring Lil Wayne - Let It Rock

REM - Leaving New York

The Surfaris - Wipe Out

Vengaboys - Shalala Lala

This classic 1963 instrumental was the only UK hit for the Surfaris. Elsewhere, we have an eclectic list from the Vengaboys to Iron Maiden.
