Still increasing on Apple then. Wonder how much she can close the gap with tomorrow's Spotify numbers.

Miley could actually challenge for #1? :cheeseblock: Amazing 2nd day on spotify and now #1 on Apple Music as well. I would think iTunes and the youtube video views will help give her the edge over RAYE. Based on the Kworb youtube update, this is what Miley/Raye were doing on youtube on the 12th/13th:

 

RAYE - Escapism. 423,438

Miley Cyrus - Flowers 359,814

 

As Kworb data is across two days we can half RAYE (as Miley's data would've been from the 13th only) which would give:

 

Miley Cyrus - Flowers 359,814

RAYE - Escapism 211,719

 

It's likely Miley did big numbers yesterday as well so interesting to see what they will be like when Kworb updates.

I’d be down for Miley getting number 1. She deserves it! It’s a great song.

I actually think Miley could end up just increasing throughout the week, similar to how (from what I remember) WAP, Head & Heart and Montero did in the initial weeks on Spotify.

It's already doing better than Montero IIRC. Don't think that got to #1 on Spotify til the second half of the week.

That second day increase for Miley is pretty crazy, definitely looks like it's on course to be a mega hit. Wow at Bizarrap/Shakira still climbing for a third day as well :cheeseblock: Also great to see Libianca making good progress, I'm here for that to be the next big afrobeats hit.

 

Also not mentioned yet, there's a new entry at #190 today for 'Collide' by Justine Skye feat. Tyga (from 2014).

 

Bizarrap's previous one was the hit of summer 2022 in most Spanish-speaking countries

the song did 2 million streams like every day in Spain for 2-3 months

and was the first to chart in the US at #79

 

Love how he also doesn't give a title to the song but instead they are called Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52 (the one for last summer)

or vol. 53 (the one with Shakira)

 

The last Bizarrap release was actually Vol. 50 with Duki - no idea why that was released after Vol. 51 & 52. (Even more strangely, the one immediately before Vol. 51 was Vol. 23 :lol: but they have been chronologically released aside from that, though with a few other numbers skipped along the way).

 

The Duki one wasn't as big as the Quevedo and Shakira ones but was still #1 in Argentina and Spain, and peaked at #3 on global Spotify.

 

I've made this comparison before but Bzrp Music Sessions is basically just like a Latin American version of the UK rap freestyle platforms (Daily Duppy, Plugged In w/ Fumez The Engineer et al) which also don't give their releases proper song titles.

 

Interestingly if Miley did get to #1 it would continue a streak of turnover of sorts where the #1 is not the same as the week before, although not new #1s since half are just re-entries but since December we've had; Mariah-Wham-LadBaby-Wham-Raye-Capaldi-

 

Well that would still be true if RAYE returned to #1 as well! (In fact that'd make it more likely for the streak to continue for another week, as even if Miley doesn't get #1 this week she should have as good or better a chance next week).
