January 16, 20233 yr Well that's a wrap then, Miley is still gaining momentum so she'll be miles ahead by the end of the week most likely - aw at it ending up being just the one week at #1 for 'Escapism.' bar something unexpected but still amazing that it got there and it'll have a great chart run regardless. Wasn't expecting to see Bizarrap/Shakira in the top 40 already, fingers crossed they will hang on as they're also still gaining at the moment! Great to see Libianca in the top 40 too. I'm really not sure what's so compelling about Courteeners for them to have proven so much more resilient than all the other bands of their ilk (the only song I could hum from them is 'You Overdid It Doll' and that's just because it was a top 40 hit not too long after I joined BuzzJack, pretty good song tbf) but they're clearly well overdue a #1 album at this point so can't begrudge them. Great to see the #1 already well over the 10k mark. I suspect Clavish will end up with the highest new entry but probably no higher than #3. 'Lavender Haze' is back again at #43 so looks like the manual reset has come through, glad that it looks like 'You're On Your Own, Kid' is remaining as her third entry ahead of 'Bejeweled' at least. Fingers crossed for The 1975 and PinkPantheress to rise into the top 40 by the end of the week. 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)' showing as a re-entry at #65, it's only #159 on Spotify so I'm guessing that's been reset too? *_* Unless it's just had a physical re-release or something. If it is a reset that has to be the most tenuous one to date! I guess it'd be to tie in with the film but it's not like it's had that notable of a streaming resurgence from it.

I think artists who "peaked" from the past are really having a comeback this decade, Sam Smith, David Guetta, Elton John and now Miley Cyrus. A legendary top 3 of Raye, SZA & Miley. Dreams do come true. Please Creepin for top 10 this week. Take the L Capaldi, one of the most interesting chart runs i have ever seen. Would be nice to see a new peak for 10:35 this week. January 16, 20233 yr I really like 'Flowers' and it's gone further than Lauren Spencer-Smith and ArrDee - not to mention Nathan Dawes, Chip and Tityo. Even Sweet Female Attitude couldn't quite make it back in 2000 - criminally beaten by Craig David! I hear 'I will Survive' in it - not just lyrically but musically? But not a bad thing..bit too perfect video mind.

January 16, 20233 yr I'm so glad that RAYE did manage to sneak in a week at #1 post-Christmas as you truly never know what's round the corner - whether Lewis Capaldi CDs or a Miley Cyrus smash out of the gate. I really enjoyed Miley's last era (especially 'Midnight Sky', 'Angels Like You' and the album track 'Night Crawling' with Billy Idol) so I was hoping she'd continue her hot streak and indeed 'Flowers' is sounding pretty good. Her career has been fascinating to follow, I was the exact target audience for Hannah Montana when it aired and she was only a teenager back then so I feel like I grew up with her. Then she shed that image with the Bangerz era but it was still a massive success. Now she's back at the top again 10 years later! I so wasn't expecting Bizarrap/Shakira to touch the top 40 here just a couple of days ago *.* thrilled that a Spanish language hit is making waves here again.

I feel it's a hit on its own, given it is only growing in streams from day to day in the very first days of its release, when songs usually fall, - people are discovering the (now viral) song and liking it.
