Definitely a few songs here that I've considered - some in this contest, some in previous contests.

 

'Crumbs' was my 2nd option for this contest, and I thiiiink I'm off to see Rebecca Black live next month, so definitely happy to see it appear here. 'After Like' was also my back-up for my own contest, when I sent 'Diskoteka' and ended up in my top 50 played of the year in the end. Shoutout to the Lisa Rinna M&M for that one!

 

And for songs that I've had in my sizeable shortlist over the past few months, 'Saviour', 'Why Is She Calling?' and 'Too Well'. There's no way you're DNQ'ing with this, Cody, by the way.

Im going away for a long weekend on Thursday morning so I’ll be voting quite early, especially by Rd‘Á standards

Great to see Annalise 'Bellissima' appearing here. I confirmed it two contests ago before switching to 007 Shake, so fully on board for it to smash!!!

 

Also it appears that I might keep sending songs to wrong contests lol but I will reveal on that later.

Hoping I've got enough of my niche voters (and that it hits them hard enough) to get through here. Black Belt Eagle Scout was almost entirely new to the forum but then she was mentioned in a Doctor Blind post a few days ago! (Highlighting her more recent single 'Nobody', which is also great, although not quite on the same level as the one I've sent imo).

 

I think I've heard 4 or 5 of the other songs in my semi but the only one of those I particularly remember is Miss Grit so a bit of early République d'Áskorza hype from me too, hopefully some of the others will be better than I remember! There are two songs in the other semi that I'm already a big fan of though - yay for Mall Grab finally getting a second BJSC entry (and hopefully this should be redemption for them like Turnstile already got twice after their collab unjustly DNQed), and also really love that Nosaj Thing/Julianna Barwick song :heart: quite a few others in semi 1 I've already heard too, that Brooke Candy/Only Fire song... certainly delivered what you'd expect from that collaboration, I'll say that much! :lol:

 

Kind of intrigued to hear the Levellers track as I loved their song that popped up in the #1 albums sessions - I see this is a much more recent release though! Also hype to hear some older songs I'm not familiar with from Oneohtrix Point Never and Jon Hopkins among other interesting returning names.

 

Fun game for this contest: spot all of the obvious samples. There are quite a few of them, even after 2 of them got vetoed!

Ooops I may have totally missed that in the veto research (not that it'd make any difference but it is something I should have noted down). I'm not sure what it says about the song that I'd already totally forgotten about it when that Nuggets was barely over a month ago though :ph34r:

Not many members of #longsongbloc this month - mine is the second longest in semi 2 and it's not even 6 minutes! Rolloland of course the longest as per but even their entry is a tame-ish 8 minutes. Nothing at all over 6 minutes in semi 1 (Elëdan's entry has an album version that's over 10 minutes but they seem to have sent a shorter edit).

As usual I have no idea whether this is a good semi or not and I mostly feel out of the realms of new music so I don't recognise much of this but I have seen a few of the names around on my search, I hope those all come through when I start listening to them.

Interesting how an “I Will Survive” sample doesn’t get vetoed…
