Rina is absolutely NOT vocally weak live, what on earth, I don’t think I’ve heard anyone say that before!

Rina is an incredible vocalist and performer!! We’d do well to have someone half as good as her as our entrant.

Would love to see Rina as the choice

The UK could send artists like this each year on the basis that the Jury vote would/should always be high

Though one should be mindful of what happened to Cascada  Nevertheless, hype for Rina!! :cheer:

Poor Natalie, I don't think she could hear the track properly as she was out of time in the first chorus. Glorious deserved a lot better.

Rina would be an awesome choice - not completely sure how well she'd do, particularly on the televote, but we can guarantee that she'd sell the hell out of a fantastic pop song, so you'd hope for a good result.

As someone who has actually seen her live, I can confirm that this post is utter bullshit xx

As someone who has also actually seen her live 3 times I can confirm your opinion of my opinion is utter bullshit xx

Personally I would put Rina Sawayama right towards the top of most reliably strong vocalists in the industry!

I’m excited at the prospect of her representing the UK because I could see her throwing her all into her performance in every respect - vocals, stage presence, staging… I think she has what it takes to deliver a showstopper. I wonder if she’d go for an uptempo or a rousing ballad? I feel like she’d be incredible on a song akin to Sound of Silence for instance.

Even though her last album did well I still feel like she’s a bit slept on by the public, so it would be great for her to get such exposure.

I’ve mentioned before that the BBC were promoting Rina quite a bit by giving her a Strictly performance which is quite big for an artist who isn’t that well known to the casual Strictly viewer. They also seemed to put a lot of effort into the performance as well. So she’s either in the running for Eurovision or someone in the BBC is a big fan.

I hope it is Rina but I am not 100% sold on the evidence. I would hope the BBC Eurovision account would drop some hints if it wasn't her as people are getting obsessed with it on Twitter and I worry the rumour mill will leave fans underwhelmed. That is one reason I don't want to get too invested in Rina. It doesn't help that William Lee Adams from wiwibloggs and who now works at BBC World Service is also hyping her as the UK entry.

I have seen some people mention Freya Ridings but I don't really like Weekends or Face in the Crowd and I'm not sure how competitive they would be?

Ellie Goulding ‘Sirens’ now going into overdrive…?!

If that’s true she’s been talking to Sam Ryder too much as they are friends.

What did Rina do to deserve being compared to Cascada x

You went to see her 2 other times after not enjoying it the first time?

Almost correct - I saw her as part of a line up of other artists a further 2 times so wasn’t there specifically for her but listened again to what she had to offer.

I don’t think Ellie deserves to enter this year and just piggy back on Sam Ryder’s success. Where was she when we wanted an established artist before?
