Hope Green Day win it but will be happy with either of the two doing so. All four songs in the line up are amazing in their own ways.

'Around The World' is great, I only scored it low because of all the competition!

'Who Knew' is fine but as a huge fan of P!nk I'd rank it around mid-table amongst her singles.

Green Day FTW!

The top 5 appearing in the order I voted them in which is good. I said Green Day was a contender so would like it to win, but definitely prefer Run of the two, good top 3 either way.

Run was the eighth single released by Snow Patrol and the first to reach the top 40. It was a new entry at number 5 and spent only one more week in the top 10 and a total of six weeks in the top 40. It returned to the top 40 in 2008 at the same time as Leona Lewis' cover version topped the chart, this time peaking at number 28.

It's congratulations to Green Day who finish just nine points ahead of Snow Patrol. A recount was done for all of the top 4 and my scores were correct. No one gave the song their 50 point score but it's the only finalist not to appear in any voter's bottom 5. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams is from the same year, 2004, as Run, spending thirteen weeks in the top 40. It reached number 2 in the US where it also won a Grammy award for Record of the Year.

Thanks to everyone who voted, followed the results and posted comments.

Tomorrow, I'll reveal which songs scored the most points in the first round and the two semi-finals.

Two classics from 2004, and only 9 points in it, wow...

'Run' is an epic, which came into its own for me a few years later when driving into the Scottish Highlands - it can be played at my funeral

However 'Boulevard Of Broken Dreams' was central to cementing Green Day's American Idiot as a classic album, where it links the politicised tirade of the title track to the disenfranchised protagonists of their earlier likes of 'Basket Case', putting their struggles in the context of the society in which they lived. I nominated it as a bonus track for the final #1 singles session - in part to build hype for this rate, but I wouldn't have considered it as a potential winner, so well done Buzzjack!

Thank you Rollo for running this over the past 3 months

great to see Green Day as the winner here, a certified classic rock ballad

thanks for running this again ~

Chuffed with that winner *.* American Idiot is one of my favourite 00s albums and that is my top song from it.

Thank you for running this, Rollo!

Belated appreciation for Traffic - 'Paper Sun' which I've recently heard for the first time since this opened :kink:

Thanks for this Rollo - a very worthy winner :) Bring on the #6 rate next year :)

Ooft so close! I suppose they are both from the same ilk. Boulevard... is a great winner, although I have come to prefer the other singles from the album. Run is an all time favourite, it was pretty much Fix You before Fix You was even a thing so I can't not stan it x Not crazy on the single edit though, cuts out a lot of the power from the guitar solo and additional lines.

Thanks very much for this Rollo once again! Now to brainstorm some number 6s for next year x

Excellent top two and a very worthy winner, though would never have called it at the start of the vote! Thanks as ever for running this, Rollo, I've really enjoyed following it.

In case you're looking for a suggestion for what to run next, I'd love a vote of songs that peaked at #11 as there's quite a few I love :)

Thanks for running the poll! Of the final 4 (none of which I voted super-high), I'd say Run is the only one I'd count as a 'classic' so a bit disappointed with that result. But the overall quality of the Top 50 was pretty high so can't complain!
