So we reached a verdict of who was to go out next after an intense tie and campaign to save George... and it's George sadly who departs this round with his 1971 #1 single 'My Sweet Lord' which also was the biggest seller of that year in the UK. The song is based around George's God that he believed in and it's quite the gospel piece lyrically. The song returned to the chart in January 2002 just over 30 years later and went to #1 again but it was of course a re-release as George had sadly passed away two months prior and 2002 started off on quite a morbid note having the late Aliyah's 'More Than A Woman' replace it the next week. 5 months after she was tragically killed in a plane crash. Deep stuff!
