April 4, 20232 yr I would need a video of him signing those 30,000, all of them not a video of him signing 1 or 2 lol If you think it's feasible, just give it a try, take zip plastic bags and start labelling them and see how many you can, if you reach 200 it's already a miracle Even if you were shown a video you would say they are ‘fake’ signed cds as your opinions of him a concrete!
April 4, 20232 yr People hate Ed so much they try to discredit everything he does - he signed them, he always signs them and he knows he’ll be dragged to hell and back if he didn’t and used autopen or a ghost signer, the thing with Ed he is actually cares about the charts, positions, weeks in charts, breaking records etc., and will put in the work with signing to do so. Also his releases are not ‘surprise’ releases - they are planned well in advance giving him the opportunity to sign x amount per week, Sam Ryder said he done the same in the build up to his album release. Ed defenders are just as nauseating. Since Bad Habits I’ve grown tired of people saying ‘Ed is just interested in the charts!’ every time he gets criticised for the way he goes about things. Why? Because I’m pretty sure he never said anything like that until Bad Habits was released which was, funnily enough, at a time when chart goers were bemoaning his return. Very coincidental him announcing that he’s ‘just like them’. I’d argue he’s not interested in the charts but in himself. How he is doing in the charts. What records he can break. It has honestly never felt about the music with him, only about himself. I’m amazed so many still cling to this, but manipulation is something he’s awfully good at. As for this era, I thought he didn’t want to be the biggest popstar in the world anymore? Something he no doubt thought his detractors would want to hear. And yet here he is using signed CDs to get a no.1, yes completely within the rules but still very annoying. There are many ways to retreat from the massive success even he really wanted to do that. Just ask Dido. Anyway, why I’ve bothered to post this, I’m not sure. I doubt it’ll make anyone else reconsider their view point and I’ll just be labelled and Ed hater and be told in a very gaslighting way that I’m ‘getting upset’ about the issue despite how emotionless I truly feel. PS I wonder if Westlife would have gotten this much vocal support back in the early 2000s.
April 4, 20232 yr Ed defenders are just as nauseating. This forum makes people ‘Ed Defenders’ - I’m not even a big fan of Ed and haven’t bought any of his albums physically or really paid much attention to his overall career however post after post, month after month he seems to get endlessly dragged on here regardless of what he does or doesn’t do, it’s really a tedious read over and over again. The fact that people are still bringing up his CD single sales when they are likely to have no carry over into this week is just odd tbh. He has the fanbase to snap up 20k+ of his releases for 99p at a time so he maximizes that.

Quite honestly, I barely have the time to go out of my way defending artists I actually like let alone any that I just don’t like. It’s also funny how even Ed’s supporters can’t even admit they like him.
April 4, 20232 yr Isn't it also the reason he's so high this week though? The CD single for Eyes Closed isn't available on his store or HMV anymore so fairly sure if there's any CD sales this week, they're negligible.

April 4, 20232 yr I remember the good old days when physical product was the ONLY way a record got to No 1
April 4, 20232 yr I swear most of these comments could have been pasted directly from the last time he released a single lmaoooo
April 4, 20232 yr Oh my gosh so bitter and for what?! Is there any point to this comment at all? You’ve literally entered the conversation to insult me and leave. Not sure that kind of behaviour should be allowed. ‘Bitter’ is another one of those gaslighting words thrown around-like ‘dramatic’-to insinuate that someone’s opinion or comment is less valid than those of other people. It’s an attempt to get people to disregard what is said by painting the person speaking with a negative characteristic.

For someone who wants to take a step back, he’s certainly doing the most to stay at the top. Which is fine may I add. But it goes against what he said.
April 4, 20232 yr This video will give you an idea of how long it takes to sign CDs. It took Marillion three days to sign 12000 and that was with all five of their signatures on every one so it would take one person the same amount of time. The younger pop stars might be able to do the task a little bit quicker than these five veterans. odBhlat6wcY

April 4, 20232 yr — the user whose first post in this topic was on page 10 Relevance? I posted about what others were discussing. Do I have to post within the first five pages or just keep quiet? Please explain discussion rules to me because I’m very confused at what you’re trying to say.
April 5, 20232 yr But actually my post had nothing to do with Ed but about fake signed CDs in general Taylor is in my top 3 fav artists and I would say the same about those 60,000 signed Red TV CDs I don't believe for 1 single second she signed those and really pity the intern but those who believe it's feasible, easy solution, try it and report back ;) personally I would never ever buy a signed CD. For me it's only real if I meet the artists in person and ask to sign + write something personal
April 5, 20232 yr but those who believe it's feasible, easy solution, try it and report back ;) It's not our job nor would we get paid for it (in money or a number one album) so this logic makes no sense imo!

So.you never ever in your lifetime said something then changed your mind, or change of heart , possibly due to a change in circumstances, He said himself he had one of the worst years of his life last year due to his best friend dieing and his wife having a tumor during pregnancy, his battle with depression, could their be a chance that one of the things he loves I.e. making music is his way of coping with it

Instead he has gone out of his way to ensure he gets to no.1. I honestly wish I could make it make sense.
