April 24, 20232 yr I nearly bought The 1975 vinyl from Banquet and Assai, it flashed past my eyes :( Edited April 24, 20232 yr by Y'all Starlight
April 25, 20232 yr Enter Shakari going for the #1 iTunes Deluxe £4.99 Amazon Signed CD £6.99 Signed Cassette £6 They’ve also reduced the price of bundles. Would love EBTG who so far haven’t been dragged into discounting get it.
April 25, 20232 yr Banquet have been updating their stock throughout the day to stop resellers clearing them out - The 1975 CD and cassette is in stock now - https://www.banquetrecords.com/the-1975/liv...5D/602567226901
April 25, 20232 yr Without EBTG discoutning, I imagine at this point it's a question of whether Enter Shikari can get past 15k sales or not.
April 25, 20232 yr I’d love EBTG to get it but they seem like the type of act that have a big first day then sell about ~100 a day for the rest of the week
April 25, 20232 yr What's the record for longest run in the top 10 since the start of the ACR age? Someone You Loved - 31 weeks (total) Not sure about most consecutive weeks. Bad Habits maybe? EDIT: Bad Habits, Peru and Shape of You all have 22 consecutive weeks in the top 10, which is the most since ACR. (Although shape of you’s run might have been before ACR, I’m not sure when in 2017 it was introduced) Edited April 25, 20232 yr by Maestro
April 25, 20232 yr 'As It Was' is on 28 weeks I think, so it could potentially break the non-consecutive record - or do we think it's likely to drop out of the top 10 in the next couple of weeks? It must be due to hit ACR again soon? EDIT: I see it's on DCL-1 so maybe not then. Edited April 25, 20232 yr by Mangø
April 25, 20232 yr Didn't 'Don't Start Now' have longer than that, or am I misremembering? As It Was has tied Don't Start Now for consecutive weeks (18), Don't Start Now had 25 overall but was bumped out for 1 week because of Christmas songs 16/11/2019 Dua Lipa Don't Start Now Peak: 2 Chart run: {2}-2-2-4-4-3-4-14-3-3-4-7-6-4-4-5-5-6-5-6-6-4-5-5-8-9-29-26-29-37-37-39-38-39-41-52-49-50-58-59-59-73-73R(3)-72-67R(16)->45
April 25, 20232 yr Someone You Loved has the most non-consecutive SCR weeks with 30 - it also had 1 week on ACR. Peru has the most consecutive SCR weeks with 22. Shape Of You was before ACR was introduced, and Bad Habits went to ACR for 7 weeks during its run. Don’t Start Now had 25 weeks non-consecutive which is the most without going to ACR in betweeen runs. Edited April 25, 20232 yr by jimwatts
April 26, 20232 yr Would love EBTG who so far haven’t been dragged into discounting get it. yeah pity they won't do this. I bought my 2 copies for over 90 pounds (incl. p+p) but its worth any money.
April 26, 20232 yr EBTG are now no 1 in the midweeks with a 600 lead according to a reliable insider on Popjustice.
April 26, 20232 yr EBTG are now no 1 in the midweeks with a 600 lead according to a reliable insider on Popjustice. :cheer: :cheer: I've still yet to pick up my copy by the end of the week too, will do on my way back from the office tomorrow.
April 26, 20232 yr Tracey Thorn (EBTG) posted this on twitter: Tracey Thorn @tracey_thorn Look I know we don’t care about chart positions or anything but f*** me do you want to see us at number 1? Because apparently - and INCREDIBLY - it’s very close for this Friday’s official UK album chart. This is not a drill - every copy counts! <3 <3 <3
April 26, 20232 yr I’d love to see EBTG do it, I think I’m going to get a vinyl copy as I’ve been really enjoying streaming it this week
April 26, 20232 yr So, if true, Enter Shikari fall behind (by a fairly significant margin) despite them doing price reductions etc. and EBTG not. I think that's the best evidence yet for my hunch that the impact of price reductions is really quite heavily overstated on here. It's hard to imagine there are really that many people who would buy an Enter Shikari physical but not at full price.
