That's not promotion, that's support. And sure, it was pretty decent for what still isn't actually a single (Eyes Closed is still the current one). There's no need to be patronising when disagreeing.

I don't think anyone expected the Lana song to be this big. It's a random previously unreleased song, right? Doesn't scream "playlist support across the board" compared to "the focus track off the new Ed Sheeran album". Obviously the former has turned out to be more popular and I'm sure HH will be reacting accordingly before long.

Promotion and support is basically the same thing?

promotion

noun

"activity that supports or encourages a cause, venture, or aim."

synonym - support

Spotify playlisting is arguably the most successful form of promotion these days outside of TikTok.

So what if Eyes Closed spend 8 weeks in the top 10? It has been on top of every popular streaming and radio playlist possible, I wouldn't expect anything less. 8 weeks top 10 vs 8 weeks #1 of previous 3 lead singles. His least successful lead single since 2014. Almost 50% decline in album sales since his 2021 album, there's no denying that this era is flop for Sheeran's standards.

That Jazzy garbage really in the top 3? Really?

I’m just not getting it either at all - I’ve listened to it a few times but it’s not clicked at all.

Unfortunately I don't think she was ever regarded that big in the UK to the general public :(

Would be nice if some official chatted though, such an icon. Hopefully the impact is bigger in the US.

Nice to have some Tina on Spotify already, must be from very few hours 3-4 max

ouch at that Jazzy thing at #3, if Kylie was getting like 10% of the support this Jazzy thing is getting!!

The best song from Renaissance, "Heated" is new (well reentry) in the Top 200  I've seen it gone semi viral on Tik Tok so hope it can blow up more!!

Also agreed about Jazzy, I could understand it it had literally ANYTHING to it but it's so bland and lifeless. Bizarre that it's taking off imo!

Unfortunately I don't think she was ever regarded that big in the UK to the general public :(

I don’t think that’s very accurate, her solo work post-Private Dancer performed much much better in the UK than the US and she spoke about how Europe continued to support her long after the US stopped.

I think hopefully Dua will save us from that Jazzy thing

Won't take many streams and if it's in the same vein as Levitating

Jazzy is doing "only " 250K, and won't improve that much cos she already has had all the existing playlist support

What?! Tina was absolutely MASSIVE in the UK in her heyday. She's had multiple multi-platinum studio albums & compilations. She is adored by the British public. She also has a highly successful musical running in the West End that is still going strong after five years (and counting). She has also played Wembley Stadium.

She really was one of The Best.

Tina Turner had 35 Top 40 solo singles and 9 Top 10 albums - she was massive in the UK.

Simply The Best 8 x Platinum, Foreign Affair 5 x Platinum, Private Dancer 3 x Platinum and countless other Platinum + releases.
