May 24, 20233 yr I really don’t think it was a hit because it was Elton… he helped obviously, but it was definitely down to the hype of it being Britney’s first venture into music as a free woman. Edit: Like, even though ‘Cold Heart’ was a huge hit (again many would argue it was coz of Dua) I don’t think it would have been anywhere near as much of a hit as it was if it was Elton John feat. Someone else. Whereas it still woulda been a similar sized hit had it been Britney feat. Someone else I actually don't think it would have if was Britney ft someone else, the Britney hype may of helped a little but Elton was riding a wave of momentum from both the dua and Ed collabs so I think more hype came from the Elton side Edited May 24, 20233 yr by 777666jason

I'd say these are the seriously impressive numbers and they could be the last time we ever see an album get sales this high in its first week.
May 24, 20233 yr Re: Britney and Elton - I feel that both benefitted from working together. Re: Ed Sheeran - I don’t feel that Ed intended his current album to be a massive smash. It was his own labour of love, rather than appealing to the audience. Lewis is only on album 2, and I feel that the response to his album, or at least the singles, is muted in comparison to the hype. He is still riding the wave of having a massive debut album.

It was a DESPERATE and OBVIOUS attempt to copy Taylor Swift's attempts to copy indie artists with Folklore (of course, it was still pure pop). EVERYTHING Cheesy Fad does is focus grouped and manufactured to the last second. It is total industrialised cheese. None of it is authentic. At all. It's all for chart success.
