I never know what to say about ransfers like Rice's other than 'that's a heck of a lot of money that could be doing a lot more somewhere else'.

Notice there have been some rumblings about Harry Kane moving to various places, we'll see what happens there.

He's a good player, I like him a lot. But the way people go on about him, you'd think he's a 2005 version of Claude Makele. It's rare he's part of a midfield where he bosses the game. He has a great engine and is a good player, but that's a lot of money. Chelsea have kind of distorted the transfer market though, much like the Neymar transfer did.

Will say for Arsenal though, if they don't win the League or CL in the next 2 seasons then it's going to be a disappointment with their spending at the moment.

But they have spent heavily over the last 3-4 seasons, not just this season. Of course the extra Champions League money helps, but they've had huge outlays for a good few seasons now without selling anyone of note.

Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson has today joined Union Berlin on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season.

The 22-year-old USA international made 40 appearances for the Whites last season, in all competitions, after arriving from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2022.

A lot of Leeds players being loaned out following their relegation - sounds like this is because of a loan clause in their player's contracts. It is what it is I guess!

Ashley Young has agreed to join Everton and is scheduled to have a medical today after leaving Aston Villa this summer.
That's weird, I read he was linked to Luton. Shows how far Everton have fallen that.
