Over the weekend I put together a 90s/2000s dance playlist to use for a barbecue and it dawned on me just how many re-makes of previous dance hits made the top 40 in 2008!

 

I have remembered five of them and hopefully didn't forget any. Which is your favourite?

Voted for 'Something Good 08'! This was the first version of the song I heard but nowadays I do love OG 'Something Good' and of course, 'Cloudbusting', too :wub: one for the 80s, 90s and 00s.

 

Stunt from that Sash! remake being the U.K. Eurovision 2014 entrant Molly is such a fun fact :lol:

Sash! for me, I loved the brief Eurodance revival of 2006-8 and it was nice to have him back in the top ten!

 

Really liked Toca’s Miracle too but still prefer the original.

If I based things via my personal chart then Utah would be but now I'd say I prefer Guru Josh much more so voted that. Those two and Sash Ft Stunt are all excellent remakes though :wub:

Infinity, though I have great memories of all of these as it was the time I was most into following the charts and collecting Now albums. Also, this and Gusto's Revenge have the benefit of me not knowing the originals to compare them to (sorry if that's sacrilege x)

'Something Good' I suppose, but none of these are what I'd consider amazing.

 

That 'Toca's Miracle' remake was one of the blandest things I'd ever heard.

Sash was an absolute belter :wub:

This was also a fave of mine at the time which peaked at #41

Just listened to that Fragma 08 version and yeah.. pointless version really. I do remember it from back then and thought it was meh.

Something Good. I dont usually enjoy remakes and the original is one of my favourite ever dance tracks.

 

Someone I know noted the following

 

Firth there was the book - Peter Reich's A Book of Dreams which inspired the song Cloudbusting which was sampled in Something Good which was remixed into Something Good '08.

 

That can't have happened very many times in the history of pop music.

I dont think I heard the original (1992) that much if at all before so the 2008 version would be the one I'm used to lol.

Utah Saints and Guru Josh are my two faves here so a good result in this poll yay (I voted for Utah Saints but could have gone either way really). Sash! is also a tune.

I voted Guru Josh, although Utah Saints is almost as good.
