2 Dave & Central Cee - Sprinter

1 J Hus feat. Drake - Who Told You

JHus is on track to debut at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with Drake collab Who Told You. It would be the Stratford star’s first-ever Number 1, while it would help Drake land his landmark seventh chart-topper.

Recently returning from a three year hiatus, It's Crazy become Hus's 13th UK Top 40 entry when it debuted at Number 15. Who Told You would also become his first Top 10 single since Must Be peaked at Number 5 in 2019.

The tracks lay the groundwork for J Hus's forthcoming third studio album. His last release, 2019's Big Conspiracy, debuted at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart while 2017 debut Common Sense was nominated for British music's most prestigious award, the Mercury Prize.

After reaching the Top 10 last week, Rudimental, Charlotte Plank and Vibe Chemistry’s Dancing Is Healing could vault into the Top 5 (5).

Fresh from scoring her highest-charting UK hit in over a decade, Kylie Minogue’s Padam Padam continues to hypnotise, and is expected to rise two to Number 10 on Friday.

The UK’s current Number 1 artists Dave & Central Cee could see two tracks from their Split Decision EP climb; Trojan Horse (11) and UK Rap (13) are both up for new peaks.

Dundee DJ Hannah Laing and vocalist RoRo’s breakthrough hit Good Love is also on the up (16) and finally, Nathan Dawe, Joel Corry and Ella Henderson are on track to take 0800 Heaven to a Top 20 debut (20).

I wasn’t expecting J Hus to be #1. I want J Hus to stay at #1 but I reckon Dave Cee are gonna snatch it
Didn’t expect J Hus to be #1 even in the first look! Absolutely no chance he’ll hold on, especially with sprinter being miles ahead on Spotify today
With streaming numbers (some are missing for this sunday first look), it's 100% sure that Trojan Horse is in top 10.

J Hus' song did surprisingly well on iTunes which I guess may partly explain how it's #1 today but even with that I'm surprised it was able to overcome 'Sprinter' still having a pretty solid Spotify lead (guessing it may be higher on Amazon too?) - in any case, definitely expecting DaveCee to be back at #1 tomorrow.

First time hearing both of those top 2 and thought they were both solid vibey tracks if nothing mindblowing, definitely preferred 'UK Rap' out of the two DaveCee ones played today but can see why 'Sprinter' is the more popular one / the one they chose to push. And the J Hus track was way better than I expected, even thought Drake's part was fine (I was expecting the worst after really hating 'Search & Rescue' and this song getting similar reactions but I don't think he sounded anywhere near as offputting on this one). Both could possibly be growers methinks.

Finally second time hearing the Rudimental song as well and it's still not doing much for me but here for it overtaking Switch Disco x

It's not top 20 in First Look, that's all we know

Thanks!!

I thought you were only able to rap about how good, fierce and cunty divalicious you are and nothing else. At least that’s exactly what 99% of all rappers are doing.

Why is champaigne daddy still a thing? If I want to hear a drake song, I will put on literally any of his 15 albums he released in the past 4 months, we don’t need to clog our pours with this.

That is exactly what he's doing, yes.

To quote a modern classic.. “You got a fat pum-pum, I got a long Johnson”. (J Hudson feat. Drake - Padam Padam, 2023)

The McFly album is quite poor, potentially their weakest album to date for me, whereas Christine's is up there with the best work he's ever done, so it's a shame to see the positions that way round but clearly not surprising due to their respective fanbase sizes.
