The observant among you will note that we have had a slight name change!

We felt that as we are speeding away from the 2010’s pretty quickly, we would start to include stuff from the first half of the decade into this forum - another step forward for the forum if you like.

Depending on the context etc, we were thinking if we don’t create anything that specifically covers the latter half of the decade but it’s not like we can’t reference things from that time period either. This means things like the latter half of The Saturdays career could be discussed in depth, but perhaps not so much about their solo endeavours etc?

Does that make sense?

Happy posting guys!

It’s a great step in the right direction, and I’m very pleased that management have consented to this improvement, it shows that they really do believe in what this forum is all about, and we hope we can continue to provide you all with engaging threads, activities, quizzes and other events to maintain enthusiasm! :)

I’m just going to use this opportunity also to say just how thankful I am for James & Rob who were appointed moderators in 2023 and what a stellar job that they have each done, honestly I am so happy and proud of their work ethic, and I’m so grateful to be a part of an incredible team of people here every day!

Good job we aren’t called the retro forum then and just the throwback forum!
Yeah it does make sense - particularly as there was such a huge change in the shift from sales to streaming in 2014, so I guess this will now include the whole download age
Yeah so I'm comfortable that our members will use their discretion and intelligence when it comes to what is retro and what isn't. As each year goes by it is only natural that the boundary for retro moves with it, I'm not looking for a tonne of 2019 topics or anything but it seems silly to limit this forum to 2009 when later years will be considered retro as each year passes.

All the closed survivors/polls etc have been moved to the archive sub forum that was created today and thanks for adding it in Joseph! ^_^

Looks so much neater now!

That's a good idea!

Are there plans for 2010s EOY polls too?

I think we all agree Rob is doing an excellent job with the EOY survivor polls for the 2000s, I think there is still some way to go with that at the moment if he is up for the challenge!

That said, if there is a willing volunteer would would like to start such polls for the 2010’s era they are more than welcome to start by letting one of us know and we will support them however required. ^_^

Like the new name and expansion into the 2010s. Some interesting earlier threads from a quick look now there are fewer pages to go through to find them too. Great work everyone!

It definitely looks a lot tidier now - I love it!

Thanks to Roba and Wardy for doing this! (It was both of you right?!)

Rob did about 99% of the work lol. I didn’t expect it so fast though so too marks for speed!

Yeah it is much tidier now. ^_^

Until we leave the closed survivors for the present weeks on the first page so they get counted towards the poster chart. The main thing was reducing endless pages of them though :P

Shame it won't count them though but it wouldn't be legit if we just shoved them in archive and it cuts them off our total.

Looking forward to seeing our first full week post count under the new name ^_^

Will also add 2000s to the next survivors I post if we are indeed doing ones from the 2010s as well so to specify the two separate decade's in this century!
