Not personally a fan of 'Nothing Compares 2 U' but would be nice to see it in the top 40 as a tribute, hopefully they'll ask for a reset (since Tina Turner set the precedent of posthumous resets now).

The late Spotify release for the Drake/Cench freestyle definitely bungling its chances of charting, has done ok to still have enough buzz around it to make a top 200 splash after its pretty lowkey release. I imagine it burnt through its curiosity streams on YouTube already.

Looks like 'Deli' could become Ice Spice's biggest solo hit, climbing pretty quickly in the US.

NC2U now #16 on Apple and #21 on Amazon
Coming for her highest peak since 1999? Absolutely would not have seen this coming, even at the start of the week. Thought Dua, Billie and Nicki/Ice would be the only ones to impact majorly.

Apple quickie update (new entries and notable gains)

3. Billie Eilish - What Was I Made For? [From The Motion Picture "Barbie"]

11. Sinéad O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U

37. Ryan Gosling - I’m Just Ken

52. Lizzo - Pink

95. Drake & Central Cee - On The Radar Freestyle

154. Aqua - Barbie Girl

157. Sigma - Adrenaline Rush (feat. Morgan)

171. Issey Cross - Bittersweet Goodbye

195. Beyond Chicago, Majestic & Alex Mills - Million Dollar Bill

200. KAROL G - WATATI (feat. Aldo Ranks)

(I do hope the Sigma and Issey Cross songs don't end up both taking off, we don't need two DnB versions of Bittersweet Symphony hitting at once)

Especially as the Sigma version is kinda sh!te and the sample feels so stuck on

Interested to see how high "Nothing Compares 2 U" goes on spotify. I wouldn't be surprised if it challenges for #1 in tomorrow's update. The youtube views are quite big as well and #11 on Apple Music is a good sign.

A big question is how they calculate the spotify streams for the song with their algorithm given there will be a big surge. I would think it'll be safe for top 40 this week and top 20 next week if it gets a reset? The song is #10 on Amazon and given how fast it went to #1 on iTunes (and with multiple versions) it should do significant downloads.

I think it's totally impossible to predict
Don't forget that Thursday streams don't count. :lame:

depends how OCC estimate the song’s Thursday streams but I suspect it won’t be going top 40 this week, but could do next week.
I doubt it'd have done enough for top 40 this week anyway even with streams all counted and a reset, the boost has just come too late in the week - I'm sure there's a decent chance she'll hold up well enough to be at least top 40 next week though.

NC2U now #5 on Amazon,

guess the OCC can use how a song is doing on other outlets to estimate Spotify in cases like this?

According to Alan Jones' report from the week Tina Turner died, Thursday streams for Amazon aren't counted either:

The death of Tina Turner, not made public until Wednesday evening, was too late to have a major impression on the chart, not least because streaming is by far the biggest component of both charts and even though she has probably dominated the medium since her passing, this week’s chart – like most – is missing Amazon, Apple, Spotify and YouTube streaming data for Thursday, with upweights to compensate, which means no uplift whatever for Tina. She will, of course, make a bigger impression next week, though Thursday’s streaming is lost forever.

'Mandinka' has now made the top 200 on Apple for Sinéad as well (#194). 'Nothing Compares 2 U' has dropped back to #12 though.

Drake/Central Cee up to #61. It's actually higher on US Apple Music (#39) somewhat surprisingly!

Desire sounds big! Can definitely see this as another big hit after Miracle’s success.
